HOLY GHOST MENTORING
Introduction
The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity, He is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ and the Comforter of the Believer. The Holy Spirit has a personality, He is a divine being you can relate with. As a Comforter, He is someone who understands your conditions and feelings.
He was with Christ in His earthly journey, so He understands our affairs and can help us if we're willing to obey His instructions. The Holy Spirit is the member of the Trinity particularly charged with holiness and purity. He is the Spirit of holiness, the holiness of God is deposited in Him.
He is the power of God that makes a believer keep a pure heart and walk holy. He makes you of quick understanding in the things pertaining to good and bad. He opens your conscience to the standards of God in many things.
This is why people who submit to the Holy Spirit leading make wise decisions. Holy Spirit makes a believer see things the way God sees them and no secret can be covered from you. The Spirit opens your eyes to see sin as they are, sin and death traps. You will know how to flee every appearance of evil.
Your understanding enlightened to see that many things the world celebrate are an abomination before God. The Spirit makes you fearless and bold. Without the Spirit, you can serve God acceptably and your holiness will be like a filthy rag. It is by the Spirit of holiness that sharpens your discernment. There are many saliant wicked behaviours you cannot perceive without the Holy Spirit. Many things look good and harmless to the ordinary eyes, but spiritual evil.
The Spirit of holiness says to a young man, flee from every appearance of evil, don't bond yourself with the opposite sex when you're not ready for marriage, but the natural mind says you can be friends, there is nothing bad in that.
The Holy Spirit will say to a young man: "Don't turn to look at any woman, no matter how beautiful or provocatively dressed she is, but the natural mind will say to you "You can look but don't lust after her. That is a lie of the devil. The devil knows that when you turn aside to look at her again, the provocative dressing registers in your heart. Many days later, the devil will flash that picture to provoke the spirit of Lust in the person.
A Comforter is one who gives solace, counsels and strengthen you when you're weak and you cannot ask for a better mentor than the Spirit of God. Jesus speaking in John 14:16 says "I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever. Why will He abide with you? To show you the ways of God and help you to walk in them.
In John 15:26, the Lord says " But when the Comforter has come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me. The Holy Spirit is another Comforter, after Jesus that is meant to guide to heaven.
His is your guide into all truth, that is the power that will reveal the scriptures to you. When the Holy Spirit is alive in you, the word is also alive in you. You will love the word, study and obey it. You will choose holiness and hate iniquity, and as your Lord. When the word abides in you, Christ is also abiding in you. Remember that Christ in you, is the hope of glory!
When the Holy Ghost is the one mentoring you, no trick of the devil will get you. The Holy Spirit will make you wiser than the devil in the world.
