KNOW YOUR GOVERNOR....And his Perceptions (OKEZIE IKPEAZU, ABIA STATE)

Nigeria has great men and leaders who hasvecontributed in different ways to the progress of the nation.  Some of these leaders had their driving force and motivations they were passionate to pursue.  Alhaji Jakande in Lagos was a Governor that everyone in Lagos saw his passion for affordable Housing for the people.  Those houses are still standing till tomorrow.

It is important to observe the perception of leaders, especially those in authority. The bible say as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is. When a leader speaks from the heart, and pursues those ideals, generations after him will see evidence of his work.

I saw the comment of the Governor of Abia State when he was first elected as the Governor of the state. He made this statement in 2015 and Vanguard newspapers captured it.  He was quoted as saying:   " Orji's shoes are big but I'll run faster — Ikpeazu".

This is a statement of a confident leader.  He was telling his people that his predecessor in office may have done well, but he hopes to do better and quickly too.  The question is "How far has he ran faster"?

The man whom an Adventist church in Rwanda described as an Ambassador of Christ, Okezie Ikpeazu was born on October 18, 1964, to the family of late Pa Ishmael and Deaconess Bessie Ikpeazu of Umuebere in Umuobiakwa village, Isialaukwu, Mbato Autonomous Community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria.

He attended Amaise Central Primary School, Umuobiakwa,  Ihie High School, Isiala Ngwa where he took his School certificate examination in 1979 and later University of Maiduguri to study Clinical Biochemistry.  He graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) Second Class Upper Division in August, 1984.

Okezie Victor Ikpeazu was elected as the 9th Governor of Abia since May 29, 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.  He was re-elected on the same platform after his first tenure.

The Governor  returned to the University of Maiduguri for a M.Sc Degree in Biochemical Toxicology and later obtained a Doctorate Degree, Ph.D in Biochemical Pharmacology from the University of Calabar.

We pray for the Governor that God will increase his wisdom and cause him to excel in office and leave foot prints for generations after him to see and glorify God.

We wish him well!

CONCLUSION

Friends, Jesus is coming soon.  If you have not yet received Him as Lord and Saviour, I plead with you to do it now.  If you are ready to surrender your heart to Christ, say this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ.
I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again for my justification. I repent of my sins and ask for forgiveness. I ask Jesus to come into my heart and reign as my Lord and Saviour.

I receive Him by faith and I am born again!
