MODEST DRESSING DEFINED
Introduction
Clothing is meant to cover the body in a plain and simple way, it could also be used to identify a person's profession or tribe. When you see a Doctor or Nurse, you don't someone to tell you they are medical professionals. When you see an Ibo man with his red chap, even in Switzerland, you will know he is Ibo.
It is the same thing for a Christian, male or female. We are told to dress to cover our body, show our sex and be different from the world. A Christian whose dressing is influenced by the world will hardly look different, and she cannot be distinguished from the crowd, and that is not good.
Fashion and how we look is one of the things we have the power to control. People who make short dresses for themselves have their reason for doing so, it is not from God. It is either due to worldly influence or they are under pressure to impress their friends. You can control what you wear!
This message is not meant to show you what you should wear or not, but as a reminder that Christians should obey the Spirit of God inside of them, who is correcting them on what to do, wear and say. Every adult person should know what is good and what is in bad taste, so if you saved, show it in your dressing, don't say 'Christianity is in the heart'.
Christians do not expose their body to attract anybody or seduce the opposite sex. We do not paint our body or put marks on it, because the bible forbids it. You may say "But there are many Christians carrying Tattoo, that is true. We cannot judge anyone before time, judgement is the Lords's.
But, the mind of God concerning how we should dress is already stated in the bible. The bible made it clear that a person should not wear the clothings of the opposite sex, for all that do this is an abomination unto the Lord. So, we dress to show our sex, and no born against Christian who will wear the dress of the opposite sex. A man should not wear skirt etc.
Many times, you see a fat woman dressed in a short blouse, and you wonder if she is really born again. I know that women will have to discipline themselves if they will glorify God in their dressing. All the short dresses that expose legs, tommy and belly-button are not for born-again Christians. So I encourage women to discipline their flesh and keep their body under control, otherwise, the flesh and body can mislead a person to hell.
God is interested in how you present your body as well as your heart. Adam and Eve fell into sin, and suddenly discovered they were naked, so God used animal skin to cover them. God thus establish the primary purpose for dressing to be to cover the nakedness of man.
In Mathew 5:27-28, Jesus says, “Everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart”. The Lord warned men to be careful of what they look unto and the things they think-on in their heart.
He made it clear that lusting after a woman in their heart is a sin of adultery, even without any direct contact. Here comes the danger of seductive dresses that women wear. If the dress is seductive, men who see her could easily commit the sin of adultery of the heart.
This is why converted sister in Christ will never dress in a worldly way, to expose their body or attract attention to their body on the street. Body-hug is not an outfit for outdoor events. So Sisters are advised to be modest in their dressing because of the potential effect of a wrong dressing for men and even women.
MODESTY IS KEY
The Bible cautions that modesty should guide women in their desire to look good and remain youthful. It also means that woman should not dress in a way to focus attention on her body in a way that seduces the opposite sex.
Women should not expose their body to others through dressing for any reason, for clothes are meant to conceal rather than reveal. To that extent, short dresses are not modest.
Also, tight dresses that clique to the body is not modest, though they are the favourite of youths.
God said in His Law: “A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing” (Deut. 22:5). Even under Christ, God wants a clear gender distinction, His laws have not changed. So, women should avoid men's clothing in all their dressing.
Be careful of influencing others with your clothing. Understand that shorts, short dresses, sleeveless blouses, low-cut necklines, and the like are designed to reveal and not to conceal the woman's body.
Wear clothes that clearly identify your own sex.
Christ did not come to deliver us from the Law, He came to fulfil it. His death at the cross made us free from the Curses of the Law, not from the moral laws themselves. God created “male and female” (Genesis 1:27) and He wants men and women to appear as men and women!
In our world today, worldly men appear feminine by wearing earrings and other jewellery. God says that it is an “abomination” to appear as the opposite sex (Deut. 22:5). Men should look like men and women should look like women. It is disgraceful for men and women to look like the opposite sex!
Every child of God should not have problems abiding with the written word of God, in the bible. They are not to be interpreted, they are to be obeyed.

Revealing clothes
Love others to such an extent that you do not stimulate either envy or lust in others! If you cause others to sin by your appearance, then you grievously sin yourself (Luke 17:1-2).

CONCLUSION
Friends, Jesus is coming soon. If you have not yet received Him as Lord and Saviour, I plead with you to do it now. If you are ready to surrender your heart to Christ, say this prayer:
