Introduction

We are living at another crossroad in human history.  We are living at a time when man's heart is continually evil, towards God and their fellow man.  Many people have abandoned the Word of God, which counsels and moderates the lives of people.

The word of God is the source of all knowledge of God and when people study and meditate on the word of God, they learn so many good things from the Word.  They learn to love and how to love other people.  They learn also what the Lord regards as evil, wickedness, sin etc.

A lot of people who understand the word of God knows it is for their good.  The word of God makes people relate better with others, teaches forgiveness and self-discipline and mutual respect.  The word of God is again Spirit and life, and it has the power to moderate and guide anyone that believes in it.  But, when the word of God is ignored, or relegated to the background, another spirit takes over control of such a life.

The spirit of this world, the spirit of corruption takes over.  When that happens to a person, you will see that person walk according to the spirit of the world and all kinds of evil will be found around such a person.  Behaviours like greed, lies, cheating and stealing, even witchcraft.  Where ever there is corruption there will be wickedness and violence, which is what we are seeing all around the world today.

Corruption destroys lives.  It was the corruption of the seed of Adam by the marriage between the angels and the daughters of men that polluted mankind and turned man into a wicked and evil people, always thinking evil and God decided to wipe them all out. - Gen 6:

These marriages between the angels and women produced giants, men of renown by their height and size.  The bible says they were mixed with ordinary people, but they do not know God, neither do they acknowledge God.  The heart of these giants was not with God, but with other gods as can be seen in the case of the giants, that built the Tower of Babel, who built several small shrines for other gods at the basement of the Tower, and a sanctuary for the worship of another unknown god at the topmost floor of the tower.

With the pollution of the stock of Adam by the sons of these wicked angels, it repented God that He created man.  The wickedness in the heart of man was continually evil and great before God.  These giants started turning the heart of the people away from God unto themselves as the leaders of the people.

One good example is Nimrod, the man who was described as a mighty one in the earth.  Mighty one was ascribing greatness to himself, instead of God.  Nimrod was among the giants that build the Tower of Babel, he built cities and kingdom starting from Babel - Gen 10:8-10.

Satan used the giants to corrupt the seed of Adam and wickedness and violence took hold of the people.  In such circumstance, you can be sure of lawlessness and disobedience to the word of God, which made God decide to destroy the man He created.

100 Years of Building the Ark

According to bible account, Noah was 500 years old when God reckoned with him as a just and perfect man, and he walked with God - Genesis 5:32.  Noah was 600 years old when the flood came upon the earth according to Genesis 7:6.

There is no way Noah would have used 120 or 150n years to build the Ark.  The most probable time is 100 years, being the time between Noah's reckoning and when the flood came.  The whole destruction took 1year 17 days.  According to the scriptures, Noah was in the Ark for  1 YEAR, 17 DAYS.  By the time he looks upon the earth, behold, the whole earth was dry - Genesis 8:14.

Will you be Righteous?
Noah was described as a just and perfect man in his generation, yet he was a married man with three sons and his wife was living with him.  He was everything we are today, and yet he was a just and righteous man in the midst of a wicked and evil generation, and he walked with God.

There is so much evil today, sexual perversion.  Children are dressing like adults women and adult women are dressing like school girls to enable them to overreach themselves in every way possible.  There is the corruption of the heart and body today all over the world and the spirit of lust and lasciviousness is on the rampage.  None of these things is new, it has been there starting from the days when Adam was probably alive up until now.

But in the midst of all that Noah was found righteous and blameless.  What does it take to be a righteous and perfect man?  Jesus in His sermon on the mount taught the people to love their enemies so they can be like their Father who is in heaven.

On how to love our enemies, the Lord gave four instructions:
1. Love your enemies,
2. Bless them that curse you,
3. Do good to them that hate you, and
4. Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust". - Matt 5:43-45

Love, a sign of Perfection

When we love people around us, help them support those that need our support, we become like our heavenly Father, perfect.  Jesus again restated this same principle when He told the rich young man who was obviously keeping the law to sell all his possession and give the proceeds to the poor - Mathew 19:21.

That means that Noah feared the Lord, he obeyed the word of God and in addition, he loved the Lord his God and his neighbours as himself.  He loved his friends and enemies and was kind to all the people around him.

Will you fear the Lord, meditate on the word of God and obey it?  Will you love the Lord your God and your neighbours as yourself?  Will your heart be pure towards God and man?  These are the little things that will make you blameless.

We have no excuse for joining in the evil that is going on around us.  Lot was another righteous man who was troubled by a generation of wicked and evil people of Soddom and Gomorrah, but he did not compromise his faith neither did he join them.  Will you be righteous and blameless, Jesus is near to you to help you, His grace will make it easy for you.  Are you asking me how it will be done?

How did cattle and birds enter the Ark?

God asked Noah to build an Ark that will be used to keep alive men and animals of all kinds from the flood.  You know that Noah was not an Engineer, neither a pilot, but God who gave him the wisdom to build the Ark.  When it was time for them to enter the Ark, God again commanded the beast and all the animals and birds to get into the Ark, so from their desert, forest and hidden locations, they all started coming and entering the Ark until Noah has counted 7 pairs of clean animals and two sets of unclean animals, male and female.

The same thing happened for birds and all creeping things as God had commanded.  Noah did not start looking for the birds or animals in the forest to gather into the Ark...NO!.  At the command of the Almighty, they assembled themselves unto Noah and walked into the Ark.

When it was time for the Ark to be closed, it was the Lord that closed the Ark Himself according to Genesis 7:16, which says: "And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in" - Gen 7:16

Trust in God
God has the power to make all things possible, His word cannot fall to the ground, and His promises never fail.  I want you to trust in Him with all your heart.  If His promises are being delayed in your life, embark on aggressive and persistent prayer, and soon the heavens will blast open for you and your pain, sorrows shall be turned to joy.

For those who have not received the Saviour Jesus Christ as Lord, please do it Now.  Confess your sins to Him and repent of them.  Confess that Jesus died for your sin and rose again for your justification.  Therefore, invite Jesus into your heart as Lord and Saviour, ask Him for the grace to follow Him all through, in truth and spirit.

Receive the Lord into your heart by faith, Glory to God, you are born again!
