Introduction

God is a Master in promoting people and there is nothing hard for Him to do.  When I saw this story, I thought that it is good to receive favour and move from one level to another in society.  

Being a Plantain seller to a Nollywood star is a great move, but when a person connects to Jesus Christ, the promotion will be with added benefits and there will be no sorrows added.  

I remember the story of a sister called Hannah in the bible.  Her husband's name was Elkana, and Hannah at that time had no child.  Every year Elkanah and his family went up to worship at the house of the Lord in Shiloh.

And at one of the visits, Hannah became desperate for God's blessing because of the mockery of her detractor, Elkana's second wife. She prayed to the Lord, saying:

"O Lord, if thou wilt look upon me, and give me a son, he shall be given to the Lord as long as he lives."

The Lord heard Hannah's prayer and gave her a little boy, and she called his name Samuel, and Samuel grew up to be a good man, a prophet of God, and a wise Judge.

The promotion of David - The Shepherd Boy

It was Samuel that anointed another young man promoted by God, David the son of Jessee.  God had found the heart of David to be perfect before Him and decided to anoint him, King, in the place of Saul.

God sent Samuel to go and anoint David with the boil, and as soon as the oil touched David's head, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him to make him the King that God wanted him (David) to be.  

From that time the Spirit of God came upon David, and he began to show signs of coming greatness. He went back to his sheep on the hillsides around Bethlehem, but God was with him.

David's Song unto the Lord -  Psalm 23:

David was a man of gratitude, who looked back at how God had blessed him, by raising him from being a shepherd boy to a King and stayed with him throughout his battles and life as a King.  

He looked back at his days and sang a song unto the Lord.  

That song is what you have in Psalm 23:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters,
He restoreth my soul;
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; 

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: 

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Now the story:

According to her, those who didn’t believe in her dream some years back, are now trying hard to be in her good books.

Like some other celebrities, Biodun Okeowo popularly known as Omoborty in Nollywood has had her fair share of a hard life.

The single mother of two, who has over the years grown a thick skin to criticisms, says she is elated that those who didn’t believe in her dream some years back, are now trying hard to be in her good books.

“I believe in hard work. Keep grinding, one day the people that don’t believe in you will tell everyone how they met you. Don’t relent; just keep pushing. I was once a plantain hawker. I didn’t allow my past to determine my future. My haters are at my back, they are likened to my problems, which are also at my back, but Holy Ghost is solely behind me,” she noted.

You are next in line for God's promotion.

God is calling you to Himself today.  He has a lot of good things for you.  He created you and knew you before you were born.  Many people are in the captivity of Satan because they have not known JESUS CHRIST as their Lord and Saviour, and so, they cannot confront the enemy terrorizing their lives.

That is not your portion.  You were created for a purpose, and that purpose will be made clear to you in Christ.  The Lord will guide you as He guided David from a Herdsman to the Palace of Israel.  

When you receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He will give the power of Sonship, the Holy Spirit of God will possess you and your life will never be the same.  Give your heart to Him today, accept the gospel and receive Jesus as Lord. 

CONCLUSION

Friends, the King (JESUS CHRIST) is coming.  The question is "Where will you spent eternity - in heaven or hell". This is the time to work out your salvation...Now is the acceptable time.  

If you have not yet received Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, say this short prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.  I repent of my sins and confess them. O'Lord, forgive my sin have mercy on me.  I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again for my justification. I invite Jesus into my heart to reign as Lord and Saviour of my life.

Thank You for answered prayers, I am born again.
