KNOWING YOUR GOD...Faithful God
Introduction
I welcome you to Fireinthebone in Jesus name.
This is a simple message about the Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth, the Almighty God, the Healer and Deliverer of mankind. The God to whom all things are possible, the God to whom there is no impossibility.
The modern man needs to know the Lord deeper, so they can stop seeking God in vain. Vain because many seek Him not with all their heart. The scripture says that those that seek the Lord will find Him if they seek Him with all their heart.
God cannot be known from afar, or by half-hearted followers. You have to devote time to search for the Lord, study and meditate on His words. It will amaze you that God has made Himself clear in His word, what He expects from those that are called by His name and the reward for obedience.
Every one that devotes time to know the Lord is sure to come out with a clear concept of who God is. This truth is enough to bring anything you need from the Lord. God is Sovereign, self-existing, unchangeable and eternal God. God cannot be understood or comprehended. He has no beginning or end.
He is the Almighty God, mighty to do all things, to save and deliver, heal, restore. He is mighty to open any door for you, to make you a father, mother and wealthy with just a word. God is able to bring you out of any valley, bondage or evil.
God may be silent in certain situations, that does not mean He is not seeing or His hands are tied. But the day the Lord God Almighty will arise for your sake, that same minute will the power of all your enemies go down. One word from the Lord is enough to deliver you from any strongman or woman.
God is a Spirit, He is eternal and everlasting. The bible says God is a man of war and when you are His own, He fights your battle. Imagine that the Almighty God is on your side, no strongman can defeat you in battle. No matter how strong the man or woman maybe, or for how long they have boasted against you, the moment the Lord enters into your battle, their power is destroyed.
The Enemy of our Soul
I want believers to know they are complete in God. I want you to trust God for whatever you need after you have prayed. Faith in God's word and taking the necessary step of faith can deliver anything we need from the Lord.
Devil, the enemy of our soul is the main problem we have and the devil himself is a spirit, so it will be difficult for anyone who is not in the spirit to defeat satan and his agents. That is why it is important that Believers should walk in the Spirit and make no provision for the flesh.
We must be in the spirit always if we want to defeat Satan and his demons. Some people are human demons with the spirit of Satan to see into the realms of the spirit and discover hidden secrets about a person. These are the people who are serving the devil, yet they call themselves Prophets. These are wolfs that put careless Christians in bondage because their power is from the devil.
To defeat the enemy of our soul, we must die to the flesh. The day a Believer dies to the flesh, from that moment the enemy can no longer afflict him/her. Dying to the flesh puts us in the secret place of the Most High God, where the devil cannot harm us. We enter the realm where the Almighty God fights our battles for us.
Dying to the flesh moves us to the next level in our Christian life. We enter into the class of men and women to whom the devil and sin have no power against you. The Lord wants us to put our trust in Him and refuse to be tossed about by every doctrine.
God is a Man of War
God is a man of war and everyone saw it when He delivered Israel from the bondage of the Egyptians. In Ex 3:8-9, He told Moses that He has heard the cry of the children of Israel and that He has come down to deliver them out of the land of Egypt. The Lord says:
"And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them".
The question is: Did He deliver them? Yes, He did. God will do anything to deliver all that trust in Him. In the case of the Israelites, He did at least 43 miracles in their midst from the day of the pass over to their entering the Promised land. I am talking about the God that parted the Red sea for the people to walk pass on dry land. The God that brought water for the children of Israel from the Rock. The turned the staff in the hands of Moses into a Serpent.
God that answereth by Fire
If you know the power of God, you will know there is nothing you need that is hard for God to provide. He fed a whole country for 40 years in the wilderness. He sent Manna down every day for them to eat.
He answered the prayer of Elijah and sent fire to consume his sacrifice and put an end to the prophets of Ball manipulating the children of Israel to serve the devil. He also answered the prayer of Moses and buried Korah, Dathan and Abiram alive before the children of Israel in Numbers 16: 15-34.
The Almighty God pulled down the Walls of Jericho erected to stop His people from getting into the promised land. The Lord God can do all things and every child of God should know this truth. He answered the prayer of Joshua by fire when the children of Israel were fighting the Gibeonites.
Joshua commanded the Sun and the Moon to stand still until they have completely defeated their enemies Joshua 10:6-14. God hardened to the prayer of Joshua and the bible says there was no day like that day before that time and after that time.
God of Justice
God is the God of justice, who judges the wicked works of men. But, unlike men, God gives warning to man to amend his evil ways before He pronounced judgement on them. God warned that the man He created has departed from His ways and that He would destroy them.
But man did not repent and God looked and saw wickedness in all the earth. However, He Noah a holy and just man and He commanded him to build a ship to preserve humanity during and after the flood.
So, the Lord sends a flood to destroy all living thing, safe for Noah and his family God warned the people of Sodom and Gomorrah of their wickedness, but they refused to repent. But He warned the people of Nineveh and they repented and were delivered. ut Sodom and Gomorrah He sent stones, fire and brimstone to destroy the city.
Seeking to Know God
The Holy Spirit is the key to understanding the Bible, He is also the key to understanding God and the Lord Jesus Christ, for the bible says that:
‘
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” - 1 Corinthians 2:9-10,
The key to understanding God is the person of the Holy Spirit, given to those who obey God (Acts 5:32). Without the Holy Spirit, man's effort to know God and His ways will end in futility. It will be a waste of time because the natural man cannot comprehend the things of God.
The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). Let’s briefly look at some absolute and moral attributes of God:
1. God is our Creator
God is the Supreme Creator of everything. God the Father accomplished the creation by and through His Son Jesus Christ. The Bible speaking in Ephesians 3:9 says “God created all things through Jesus Christ”. for by Christ, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16).
2. God is love
The word love is highly loaded in the spirit. Love is the first and foremost expression of God’s Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). It is the first gift of God that every Christian should seek. Apostle John writing to the saints says, “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God—for God is love”
Though the devil has led people to misuse and misunderstand the word, Love. The Agape type of Love best describes God's love for man and how God expects us to love one another, as ourselves. God is love is seen from the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ to redeem the world and how His agape love works towards us.
A. The scripture says in Romans 3:16, that: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”.
B. 1 Cor 13:4-8 describes the Agape love of God towards us as follows. It says:
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity [sin], but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).

10. God is Sovereign
11. God is Omnipotent
12. God is Omnipresent
13. God is Omniscient
14. God is eternal
God is eternal, He lives and reigns forever. God remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. His throne is forever.
15. God is the great Healer
In spite of all the wondrous achievements and advancements in medical science, mankind is still plagued by diabetes, cancer, heart disease, AIDS, a host of harmful addictions and unending chronic ailments. Jesus Christ is the Healer of every known and unknown sickness. His word released upon the sick bring healing to the body.
Human beings still desperately in need of divine healing. A prayer of faith made by the brethren brings healing to a sick person. The Bible said in James 5:14 says: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord”
16. God cares for you
Jesus in His days on earth saw a great multitude, and He was moved with compassion for them and healed their sick” (Matthew 14:14). The same compassion made Him bring back to life the only son of a Widow in Luke 7:12. Whosoever expresses his trust in the Almighty God will never see shame.
God is the ultimate caregiver, so learn to trust in God, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you - (1 Peter 5:6-7).
17. God Forgives
In Isaiah 43:25, the Lord says I, even I am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Again, in Psalms 86:5 the bible says: For thou Lord art good and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon you.
18. God Answers Prayer
The scriptures ask Believers to pray without season, every day, assuring us that whosoever asks shall receive, whoever seeks will find and those that knock on the doors of the Almighty, it shall be opened unto them. This is because God is a prayer-answering God.
The Psalmist says of God, O thou that answers prayers, unto thee shall all eyes look. In Jeremiah 33:3, the Lord says: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. In Mathew 7:7, says Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto thee.
In Psalms 145: 18-19, the bible says "The Lord is nigh unto all that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear Him. He also will hear their cry and will save them.
God rewards obedience
Our God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. This statement is repeated in Exodus 15:26, which says: "If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt does that which is right in his sight, and wilt gives ear to his commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee".
The Lord gave an assurance of His blessing on those that will serve Him in truth and spirit. Ex 23:25-26 says:
"And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil".
CONCLUSION
I prayer that "The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power - Ephesians 1:17-19.
When your eyes of understanding is enlightened, you will see how Mighty your God is and glory in his wisdom, his might, His judgement and His lovingkindness.
