ALMIGHTY GOD..........How to experience His Glory

ALMIGHTY GOD.

Introduction:

One of the ways to appreciate how mighty God is, maybe to examine some of the Acts of God.  When Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and told her that she would give birth to the Messiah. she was surprised because she was still a virgin that has not known a man, so she replied: How could this be?  But the angel replied that the power of the Highest will accomplish it.  In order words, God just wanted to inform her, she is the chosen vessel that will birth the Messiah. That prophesy came through as spoken.

God is referred to as God Almighty in Revelation 11:17, by the twenty-four Elders that worship Him continually.  Because He is the Almighty, there is nothing impossible for Him and that was confirmed in Luke 1:37, the bible say there is nothing impossible with God.  God again confirmed that He is the God that is able to do all things.  He told the people of Judah that because of their wickedness, their land would soon be conquered by the Babylonians - Jeremiah 32:26-35. But, after 70 years of captivity, He would again restore them and bless them.  The Lord sent them on exile and after 70 years, He restored them.

The knowledge of who God is, has become very important because of the strange doctrines the devil is spreading on earth.  If you have an understanding of His greatness, you will not struggle alone in this world.  When things become tough, you will remember that God is still with you, He promised never to forsake you.  All you need to do is pray and keep working by faith, doing your things, praising Him as usual.

God of all creation

God is the source of all things.  He made the heavens and earth by His great power. Nothing is too hard for Him to do for you!" (Jeremiah 32:17).  God is not just all-powerful, He is all-knowing and everywhere presents God.  This is why nothing can be hidden from Him. For believers, the feeling of hopelessness is not our portion, for God is able to do all things for us.

The fear and hopelessness that is causing depression in the world today, and making people commit suicide is happening because the people involved do not know God.  Anyone that knows the power of the Almighty God to save and deliver will never commit suicide.  This message, therefore, seeks to help readers experience the glory of God that comes from praying effectively and waiting patiently for the Lord's answer.

The Lord asked us to pray, asking for whatever we need, and when we are in trouble, pray for help, a deliverance as the case may be.  But we must not pray for praying sake.  We must not also fast for fasting sake, because God demands our faith every time we come in prayer.  If we pray and fast for the sake of it, it no longer an act of faith and it will produce no fruits.

Give God the opportunity to help you
Also, we must give God the opportunity to help us, by obeying His word and remaining patient.  No matter the challenge a child of God is facing, once you pray, believe, then wait for the answer. Many Christians keep praying and keep struggling to achieve things on their own because they don't believe if they wait on the Lord, the answer will come.  This is very wrong.

If you pray for praying sake, nothing will change, because it's no longer an act of faith, instead, a show of your ability to fast and pray.  God is looking to see your faith at work every time you pray.  He is also looking to see where you will turn first, when trouble comes, is it to Him, or the devil, friends or your money.  The best time to know who you are trusting is when there is trouble!

Take for instance, your son need admission into a prestigious University in USA or even Nigeria.  All you need to do is enter your prayer room and tarry  for a day, fasting and praying for mercy and admission for your son.  It can be on a Saturday or any other day, devote it to praying for his admission.  After the prayer, you thank Him for answered prayer, then you declare the admission is done with.  You don't start looking for someone to help you, or money to bribe any Lecturer or their agent.

You must give God the opportunity to do miracles in your life, by remaining calm and wait for the answer to your prayer. If you allow Him to have His way, the solution you are looking for may not come from the source you want, but they will come.  It may not be at the time you want, but it will surely come.  When you rest on the Lord, your faith will grow at the end of the matter and you will have a testimony.

Recently, a popular gospel artist in Nigeria welcomed her first baby after five years in marriage.  My response was that she would have known the Lord better by now.  When you have to wait on the Lord for children after marriage, if you are a Nigerian, believing in the power of God, within a period of five years, you would have done several deliverance prayers and fasted and prayed.  And at the end of it all, the Lord will answer you, and your joy will be full.  A believer must learn how to put their faith to work.

Targeted prayer
Every believer should also understand spiritual warfare and how to pray effectively.  I prefer targeted prayer, which has proved very effective in bringing down the hands of God in almost all situations.  Targeted prayer is a function of knowing where your trouble is coming from, then 'firing' your prayer arrows directly to where the arrow is coming from.  This simply means that before you start praying, you need to do some research or spiritual search to identify the source of your trouble.

A Christian should not be afraid of troubles, because trouble, problems will surely come.  So you have to acquire one of the primary skills of a Christian, which is how to pray effectively.  The ability to pray effectively is what you need.  You may start your prayer with some enquiry prayers, asking the Lord t reveal the sources of the problem and the power behind the attacks.  You can also ask the Holy Ghost living inside of you to reveal the source of the problem and the power behind, and He will open your eyes to see a vision.  If you miss these two points, your prayers may not be effective.

How to face life's challenges
In the life of a person, trouble will surely come. There is what the bible call evil day, a day of trouble.  So what can we do when we come face-to-face with trouble?  How shall we call upon the Lord at such times?   What can we do when our backs are against the wall and we have no one to turn for help?  There is the real-life story of a Christian, who was manipulated to resign from his job in a Shipping company by a network of evil men.  These guys were under-invoicing customers and lining their pocket daily with cash, at the expense of the company.  Their Supervisor says No! - That was his offence.

They did not confront him, instead, they went diabolical and all of a sudden the Christian began to feel heavy pressure and a voice started telling him to resign.  They assigned a terrible demon to pressure him to resign, and within two months of this demonic torment, he resigned, without any query, complaint or misunderstanding with anybody.  Though his boss then refused to accept the letter, insisting some strange people are 'beating the drum for him, he insisted on leaving his job.  It was months after he left that the scale fell off his eyes, he was at home jobless and could not get another job.  As a child of God, he cried unto the Lord for mercy and help. Guess what, He gave him a better and more durable job.

You Must know Him

When you know Him, you are quick to cry to Him for help, and He cannot deny you.  Personally, I have fallen into all kinds of trap and trouble, that looks seemingly impossible, but when I cry to Him, He would always answer me.  So, by the grace of God, I can advise someone in a deep mess, big trouble or impossible situation how to call upon the Lord.

The starting point is for you to know the Lord Jesus Christ and give your heart to Him.  When you receive Christ into your heart as Lord and Saviour.  When you do that, you receive the power to become His son or daughter, and thereafter, you can cry to Him for help in any matter.  The good thing about this topic is that the Lord has made promises to help you whenever you are in trouble and call Him,  He says:

1. Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

2. Psalm 50:15 “and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honour me.”

3. Isaiah 65:24 “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”

4. Psalm 145:18-20 “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfils the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.”

Have Faith, depends on Him

Our faith in God should be total.  There is no alternative and if God does not answer us, we will wait until He answers.  Whenever we have such faith and trust in Him, nothing will be impossible for God to do for us.  God wants us to depend on Him and not rely on ourselves.  He assures us by His word:

1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. “

God is powerful to deliver you from any problems on earth.  He does not even need your input, except your faith that He can deliver and your trust in Him to actually deliver you.  If you always hoping and expecting His mighty hands in your life, surely you will experience Him.  He says in Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

In Isaiah 41:10, He says to you, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  All you need to do to enjoy His protection and provisions is to trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Overcoming your Troubles
Jesus tells us that we will have troubles in this world, it's a guarantee. However, He also promises that we have victory through our faith because Jesus Christ has overcome the world. If you are facing hard and uncertain times, you can be encouraged to press on knowing that you are an overcomer.

Because God is all-powerful, He has the ability and strength to do whatever He pleases. His power is not restrained or inhibited by any of His created beings. People and nations are powerless when confronted by His might.

No matter what you might be facing, God can help you. Nothing is too hard for Him. No need is too great for Him to meet. No problem is too complicated for Him to solve. No foe is too strong for Him to conquer. No prayer is too difficult for Him to answer.

God helps us through His Spirit

God's plan for your life is that you have joy and live life to the fullest. If you are feeling overwhelmed, run-down, and without hope, the Bible can lift your spirits and give you a fresh start! Despair and anxiety have always been part of life on Earth.

The Bible says that God helps us through His Spirit working inside of us. Ephesians 3:20 says "By His mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope".  His power is alive in His children.  The Holy Spirit is that mighty power of the Almighty working in us to do anything that God wills in our life.  This can only be possible if we believe and allow the Spirit of God to have His way in our lives.

Despite the misfortunes we may experience, there is always an opportunity to allow God to do the impossible in our lives, by praying and waiting for answers from God.  The next thing the Lord expects from us is to exercise our faith, do the work of faith,  speak what we believe God for, instead of what we are seeing.  This is the pathway to victory.

Why you Should Call on Him:

1. He has a purpose for you  -  God has a purpose for you despite what you may be going through. For some people, the problem they are passing through is as a result of His purpose for their lives, unfortunately, they do not know. But if you have developed your spirit man, you would know and your heart would be at rest. If you develop your spirit man, you would hear Him clearly.

2. Miracles are your portion - The miracles of God is for all His children, but you have to ask for the miracle you need.  He asked Abraham to walk before Him and be perfect when Abraham accepted the counsel of Sarah to sleep with their maid for a baby.  That was not the perfect will of God, who had already promised Abraham a son.  He did not need Abraham to help Him.  So ask in faith for the miracle you need and wait for it.

3. Let your Expectation be on Him - If your expectation is on Him, the Almighty God, then don't continue to worry about how long you have waited or the number or strength of your enemies.  Sometimes, we fight very strong enemies, who monitor us, our prayers and every step we take in order to hinder us.  But when your expectation is on the Almighty God, be rest assured He will deliver you.

4. Reject every demonic alternative - When you are facing challenges, the devil will come up with several alternative ideas for you to escape the trouble.  A brother repented and surrendered his heart to Jesus.  The Lord told him to do restitution - To return what he stole from his employers before he became born again.

As he was going with the equipment, the devil told him to sell the equipment and secretly keep the proceeds in the office of the boss, so they will not know he was the person that removed the equipment.  He rejected that suggestion and returned the equipment to his boss, confessing his wrongdoing and asking for forgiveness.  The boss was shocked, forgave him and promoted him for his boldness.

5. Do not compromise - There should be no compromise when your trust is in the Almighty God. Do not behave like worldly people who compromise their stand or faith for benefits. You cannot help God and many times, when the expectation you are waiting for arrives, you will discover it is not from the source you had thought.  God answers us beyond the scope of our requests and He does not need you to help Him perform a miracle.  The earth and everything in it is His.

Steps in Prayer:

1. Start with praise worship. You can sing songs to praise God and to worship Him.

2. Gather important scriptures that address your problem and memorize them and later pray them to God. Confess out loud such Scriptures promising deliverance.

3. Break covenants and curses to destroy their legal hold. You pray a simple prayer like this: I break any curse working against me or I break any covenant working against me, in the name of Jesus. Simple prayer with many results.

4. Bind every demon and agents of darkness involved in your troubles in Jesus name.

5. Make specific commands for them to depart from you.

6. Pray as the Spirit leads you.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
