Introduction

National revival is always a thing of joy for many Christians.  It is a time in history when there is a move of the Spirit of God to steer the people to seek God and serve Him.

National revival is always the prayer of intercessory groups because of the peace and spiritual growth it brings to the people. Such revival comes with it a deep feeling for the salvation of the lost and how to recover millions of souls from the kingdom of darkness unto light.

National revivals would have key leaders in the faith praying and asking God to steer the people, do signs and wonders that will promote the lives of the people and cause them to be reconciled to their creator.  In the bible, we have Prophets and other devout men praying for a revival of the land and people of Israel. Prophets like Moses, Ezekiel, Daniel, Joel, Ezra and Nehemiah etc fasted and prayed for revival.

Revival says "We can no longer ignore the issue of sin and soul-winning in the body of Christ today because sinners and anything that is not pure will not inherit the kingdom of God".

1. Growth of Christianity in China astronomical

There has been a reported growth in the number of Christians in China.  It is estimated that Atheist China could have largest number of Christians in the world by 2030.  Yes Indeed, the growth of Christianity in China has become astronomical, according to Christian news network

The number of Christians in Communist China is growing so steadily that by 2030, it could have more churchgoers than America.  Officially, the People’s Republic of China is an atheist country but that is changing fast as many of its 2 billion citizens seek meaning and spiritual comfort that neither communism nor capitalism seems to have supplied.

Reasons for Growth:
There are at least 2 reasons for the growth of Chinese Christianity:

The early foundations of Chinese Christian leaders like Watchman Nee and Wa Ming Dao who laid a theological biblical foundation that was not based on mainstream Western Christian structures and accretions. They had a much more indigenous, Bible-based Christianity than in many other countries where missionaries brought Western “civilization” and culture instead of or as part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And they had a deep, spiritual faith that kept them going until their deaths… they paid the price, considering it worthwhile.

Persecution cleansed the Chinese church of hypocrites. It also forced the early Chinese Christian leaders to rely on God alone when missionaries were thrown out of the country and not to depend on missionary support.

Consider some of the rules the Chinese government have set:
• Importing Bibles is forbidden, even if they are given away for free.
• Printing Bibles is forbidden, even if they are given away for free.
• Evangelizing or giving out tracts is forbidden.
• Government officials cannot be Christian.
• Police officers cannot be Christian.
• Soldiers cannot be Christian.
• Teachers cannot be Christian.
• Children cannot become Christian.
• Teenagers cannot become a Christian.

2. Chinese Government Claims Christianity Causes ‘Enormous Harm’ To Society

The Chinese government often views religions, including Christianity, as foreign attempts to undermine its rule, even though there is no evidential basis for such a claim

The seminar which was held for members of the Communist Party of China encouraged the members to “maintain ‘correct views’ in regards to the religion and avoid being persuaded by its ideology,” China Aid reported.

The seminar was titled, “Christianity’s Enormous Harm on China’s Security.” With an estimated 94 million people, Henan ranks No. 3 in population among China’s provinces.

“The Chinese government often views religions, including Christianity, as foreign attempts to undermine its rule, even though there is no evidential basis for such a claim,” China Aid said. “As a result, they often try to suppress religious adherents, and they openly forbid Communist Party members from practicing a religion.”

However, reports say the Chinese government fear that “The number of Chinese Christians could exceed the number of party members and poses a threat to its one-party dictatorship,”

3. Christians urged to pray for a jailed Chinese pastor

Pastor Wang Yi

That Christians are being persecuted in China is no longer a rumour as we see pictures of churches being demolished and pulled down and their Pastors and members arrested and sent to jail.  Our Christian duty of care is called to action in the way of intercession.

For brethren in China, its a difficult time for them as the government is determined to enforce communist rules on the church, and they have no other country and no other God to serve.  Let us pray for them and continue to seek God's intervention in their matter.

One of such Pastors is Pastor Wang Yi, who was arrested in December 2018 along with his wife, Jiang Rong, and about 100 other Chinese Christians from the Early Rain Covenant Church in the city of Chengdu in south-west China.

They were reportedly detained on allegations of “inciting subversion of state power”. Pastor Wang Yi has released a “Letter from a Chengdu jail”. In the letter he makes a statement of Christian resistance to unjust laws. He writes that he and other Christians do not seek to overthrow the state but they wish to worship freely.

"Separate me from my wife and children, ruin my reputation, destroy my life and my family – the authorities are capable of doing all of these things. However, no one in this world can force me to renounce my faith,” he writes.

Barnabas Fund, an aid agency that supports persecuted Christians, has launched a global initiative to pray for Pastor Wang Yi. This is a worthy initiative d we enjoin all Christians to join.

Fireinthebone - Heavenly Father, Touch the heart of Chinese authorities to release your servant Pastor Wang Yi, wife and his members. Thank You for answering our prayers for we pray in Jesus Christ's name, Amen. Please join us!
