Tithing has Blessings Attached.............Honours God and Jesus Endorsed it

Jesus Endorsed Tithing!

Tithing is honouring God, rather than a law to be enforced.  It is like the command to honour parent that has a promise of long life attached to it and it is still active till today.

It is also like the advice in Deuteronomy 28:1-14 that says if you will hearken to the voice of the Lord and do all He shall command you, you shall be blessed as you go out and as you come in.

Tithing was commanded by God in Malachi 3:8-12 by God when He asked, if man will rob God?.  He asked the children of Israel to bring all the tithe into His store house, that there may be meat in His house and prove Him...

"Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house,  And try Me now in this," Says the Lord of hosts,

"If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it". "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the Lord of hosts;  And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land," Says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:8-12

Computation
The tithe of 10% of your income, should rightfully go to God if you are one of those people depending on Him for your blessing.  He says He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessing abundantly upon you.  For those who are not depending on God for their income and increase, Tithing does not make sense.

A believer who understand how God works will never argue about tithe, for it is not compulsory and nothing with God is compulsory,  it is rather for our good, as God is a rich and self sufficient God.  Our money does not get to heaven, it is used here for the work of His kingdom...and if one person feels otherwise, no problem - His work will surely continue and progress as planned.

Those who honour the Lord with the first fruit of their increases, not necessarily their first salary every year, can attest to God's generosity, so are the consistent tithers. The benefits of tithing as stated in the bible is the portion of those that pay their tithe faithfully - For the word of God cannot fall to the ground.

Understand the Biblical Basis for Tithing

In the New Testament, Jesus affirmed the practice of tithing, and the Apostle Paul encouraged Christians to give to those in need and to those who were ministering in the Gospel - 2 Corinthians 9:6–15.

When you tithe, you are supporting the work of God and enabling those whom God has called to serve as pastors, missionaries, and ministry personnel to faithfully build up the Church and expand the kingdom of God.

Jesus endorsed Tithing, but added that the people should not leave behind judgement, mercy and faith, while paying tithe - Matthew 23:23

What the bible says about First Fruit

If you diligently study the bible, you will see how God reveals to us the benefits of first fruit offerings.   Here are some of the scriptural references about the first fruit.  The first lesson, which we should learn concerning the first fruit offering is that it must be brought to the house of the Lord.

It is amazing to discover here that, the first fruits cover things like barley and corn. God was so meticulous that He asked farmers to bring the first fruits unto Him. The Lord asked for the first fruits of the harvest of wheat. This shows us that no one is exempted from the first fruits offering.

1. The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk - Exodus 34:26

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. - Leviticus 23:10-11
