Tithing has Blessings Attached.............Honours God and Jesus Endorsed it

Jesus Endorsed Tithing!

Introduction

If you’ve decided to travel down this path of financial rebirth, I congratulate you.

Tithing as a doctrine is facing a religious backslash with many believers being emotional about it.  Meanwhile, nothing is done in the faith by force, including tithe.

In the case of tithing, the bible took time to explain what the money we give as tithe will be used to take care of labourers in the house of God.  The bible says: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meet (Food) in my house, and prove me now herewith, says the Lord of hosts.

It is important that every Christian should know what the bible said about tithing and then decide whether they want to enjoy the blessings that flow to faithful tithers.  According to the word of God in Malachi 3, when we pay our tithe, it unlocks something in the spiritual realm that enables God to step into our matter, speak for us and generally work on our behalf.

The first thing that happens is that God is able to open up the windows of heaven and pours a blessing into our lives in the dimension we never thought could be possible.  It's huge, the ideas, inspirations and opportunities the Lord bring our way, and His shield that covers us round about is great.

You need to know that paying tithe break curses off your finances. In the book of Malachi 3:8-12, God personally tells us that we are suffering from a curse regarding the works of our hands when we are not paying our tithe.

A spiritually-minded Christian will easily obey the command in Malachi 3:8-12 because the bible explained what the money would be used for.  The children of Israel suffered for seventy years in Babylon as a result of their disobeying the Law of Sabbath, to keep the Sabbath holy by resting on that day.  They ignored the command for years until their un-kept Sabbath days accumulated to Seventy years and God allowed them to enter into captivity, so the Land will rest for Seventy years.

In the case of Tithe, the Lord has pronounced the rewards due to faithful tithers and the purpose of this message is to expose those blessings to readers, so they can make an informed decision.

What is Tithe?

Tithe refers to the first 10% of your increase. It is 10% of your income, whether it is calculated daily, weekly or monthly.  If you are in business, it is 10% of the profit on every new business or ventures you execute and for paid employees, it is 10% of your monthly Salary.  The Spirit of God inside you will guide you to know what is appropriate.  The phrase paying or “giving tithe means giving the first 10% of your increase to God.

Tithing is obeying the command of God, rather than a law to be enforced.  It is like the command to honour parent that has a promise of long life attached to it and it is still active till today.  Tithing was commanded by God in Malachi 3:8-12, when He asked if a man will rob God?.  He asked the children of Israel to bring all the tithe into His storehouse, that there may be meat in His house and prove Him...

A believer who understands how God works will never argue about tithe, for it is not compulsory and nothing with God is compulsory,  it is rather for our good, as God is a rich and self-sufficient God.  Our money does not get to heaven, it is used here for the work of His kingdom.

Those who honour the Lord with the first fruit of their increases, not necessarily their first salary every year, can attest to God's generosity, so are the consistent tithers. The benefits of tithing as stated in the bible is the portion of those that pay their tithe faithfully - For the word of God cannot fall to the ground.

Computation

The tithe of 10% of your income, should rightfully go to God if you are one of those people depending on Him for your blessing.  He says He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessing abundantly upon you.  For those who are not depending on God for their income and increase, Tithing does not make sense.

Why is tithe necessary?
Because it breaks the curse off your finances and establishes you on the path of favour. Giving the first 10% to God redeems the remaining money in your hands from every curse working against you.  Many people are struggling under heavy spiritual curses, but if such people can be faithful in paying their tithe, such curses are broken upon your income and money.

God always demands the best from us, whether it is our time or money, God demands the best of what we have. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus says "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”  The Lord should be first in our lives and He rightly wants the first of our labour. He wants to be given the first place in our life.

Where is tithe in the Bible?

Tithe as a doctrine came into being, before the Law was given to Moses. Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek, the Priest of the Lord was long before the Law was given to the children of Israel through Moses.  So, all the talk of about tithe being a concept under the Law is totally unnecessary - See
Genesis 14:18-20.

In the book of Malachi 3:8-12, the Lord asked His people an important question, which is even more relevant today because of human wisdom.  The Lord asks saying:

"Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,’ says the Lord of hosts.  ‘And all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,’ says the Lord of hosts” (Malachi 3:8-12).

Who gets your Tithe...Your local church!
Malachi 3:10 tells us this. In this verse, God Himself personally speaks and says, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house …”

So where should your tithe go? To the storehouse–the house of God. And where is that? It’s your local church. The local church is your storehouse. It’s where you go to get spiritual meat.

The principle of tithing goes on and on and on throughout Scripture. Although it was part of the Law, it neither originated in the Law nor ceased when Christ fulfilled the Law. When you pay your tithe, you are saying to the Giver...I am grateful for the income Lord, please open the windows of heaven for that blessing that my life and family is waiting for.

When you pay your tithe, you are also saying that you depend on Him for your financial supply and finally, paying your tithe is obeying His command in Malachi 3:8-12.

The Patriarch Abraham paid tithe. Jacob also, The Levites tithed on the tithe that was paid to them and the Pharisees tithed.  Our Saviour Jesus had to commend their tithing but remarked that they were leaving other important things behind.  The meaning of the statement of our Lord is that...Tithe does not work alone in the kingdom of God.

Tithing will necessarily work with faith, mercy and Judgement under the grace we are enjoying. Imagine that you pay tithe, but you cheat people and defraud your business partners.  Imagine also that you pay tithe as a Medical Doctor in practice, but what you specialize on, is abortion.  You are aborting children on a daily basis and at the end of the week or month, you bring the tithe to God.

God cannot accept such tithe and it will produce nothing to such a person because there is no justice, mercy and faith in your hands.  Jesus endorsed Tithing but added that the people should not leave behind judgement, mercy and faith while paying tithe - Matthew 23:23

What happens when we begin to tithe?

We receive the blessing and the 'shield of protection of the Lord'.  God blesses the works of our hands, gives us the wisdom to prosper. And every week when you give God your tithe, you should pray over it and ask God for the blessing and protection He has promised.  You can make your heart desire a prayer request and He will answer you.

Tithe should be paid continually and unbroken, as long as you are earning an income daily, weekly or monthly and you have decided to obey the word of God concerning paying tithe and you hope to receive the benefits of tithing, make plans to pay it regularly and on time.

When I was working with reputable organizations, I would always complete a form that would make my Tithe deducted at source and given to me in a separate cheque to my Church every month.  That way, my monthly pay-cheque comes to me tithe-deducted and blessed. The following blessing will tithers:

1. He will give your Wisdom and great inspiration
Malachi 3 says, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

One of the greatest ways the Lord bless His children is through divine inspiration and wisdom to get wealth. Many people attest to God asking them to design and produce something that eventually launched them into prosperity and wealth.  It could be a brand new Idea or an inspiration to modify an existing product and rebrand it to serve a wider public.

When the Lord opens His windows on a person, He gives him a BLESSING. That blessing could be a connection that will move his/her life to the next level, an idea of something to do or inspiration he should work-on, that will lead to financial prosperity and wealth.

Opportunities are Opened to you
When God will open the windows of Heaven and pour you out so much blessing on you, mercy and favour will follow you.  Mercy and favour of God will bring profitable business opportunities your way, and give you the wisdom and strength to execute it.  I asked a lady who joined my establishment after her graduation without stress what her secret was.

She told me that she believes it was her faithful tithing while in the University and prayer that brought the job opportunity to her and made it possible for her to be employed without stress.

She said each time she receives her stipend from her parents, she will remove the 10% and give to God with a prayer request that she does not want to be jobless after graduation.  That prayer was answered by the Almighty God, who is ever faithful.

2. He will rebuke the devourer for your sake.
Remember that our enemy, Satan, wants to steal, kill, and destroy you and everything you have. When you tithe, you break the curse off your finances. By your own obedience, you remove yourself from the enemy’s grasp, and he can no longer eat up the blessings God sends you.

The Lord rebukes anything that would rob you of your joy, material and financial blessings.  He would practically stop the devourer from coming near you. He gets rid of financial and material perils on your behalf. He gets rid of anything that would steal from you. He prevents accidents from happening that would use up your savings, that how it works.

Of course, increasing our finances wouldn’t do us any good if all the increase would go to the doctors to settle medical bills.  Fortunately when we tithe, God is committed to step into our affairs  and rebuke the devourer on our behalf.

Effects of Tithing
When the Lord pour you out a blessing from heaven and stop the devourer from destroying the works of your hands, what happens:

Your harvest is guaranteed
It means that when you plant a seed like a farmer, it will yield you a god harvest, pests will not eat it up.  Well, an investment is a deposit of anything that is originally intended to bear fruit. Your labour sown into building a business is an investment. Your efforts business cost you sweat, tears, and sometimes blood; but you did it for a purpose. You intend to see a return on your investment.
And when you tithe, God guarantees that your investment will bear fruit.

This is the Word of God, folks. It’s God’s personal promise about what He will do when we just give Him our first and best.

All nations will call you blessed.
As a result of your obedience, “All nations will call you blessed.” so says the Lord and so it is. All nations know that Israel is blessed and they say it loudly. This is happening because God has pronounced them blessed.  That's the same with Tithe. If you can be faithful in tithing, everywhere you go, in every nation you go, they will see the hand of God upon your life and call you blessed

Do you have faith to believe it? That's why I said tithing does not work alone. You must have the faith to believe God's word and all His promises.  You should believe the ideas and inspiration He gives and be able to walk in faith trusting Him to fulfil His promises.

Seriously, you have to have faith that God meant it in order to receive what He promised. Jesus often said, “According to your faith be it unto you!” But if you have faith to receive it, then it will happen to you.  God has promised that all nations will call you blessed if you will tithe. That means all nations will know who you are, what God has done for you, and will acknowledge His blessings upon you. All nations will, therefore, see God when they look at you.

Are you willing to start tithing today, so you can break the curse off your finances? So God can redeem and bless your finances in every way?

Dangers of not Tithing
The devourer has open access into your finances and the works of your hands.  The Lord may not be able to rebuke him, because you are spending the money meant for the running of His church and propagation of the gospel on yourself.

if a person refuses to tithe, then the devourer would come up against his/her finances. When you see your money going to the Doctors for medical bills, repair and similar expenses every month, you should know its the devourer, the enemy of our soul.

Understand the Biblical Basis for Tithing
In the New Testament, Jesus affirmed the practice of tithing, and the Apostle Paul encouraged Christians to give to those in need and to those who were ministering in the vineyard of God. - 2 Corinthians 9:6–15.

When you tithe, you are supporting the work of God and enabling those whom God has called to serve as pastors, missionaries, and ministry personnel to faithfully build up the Church and expand the kingdom of God.  Jesus endorsed Tithing but added that the people should not leave behind judgement, mercy and faith while paying tithe - Matthew 23:23

Though there is no punishment associated with not tithing, but when we choose to tithe from our own free will, God is committed to working on our behalf by opening heavenly blessings into our lives.  He will stop the devourer from wasting our finances.

Tithe is optional, its not compulsory. But when you know that God is your source, you will happily give to Him what is His, the tithe.

CONCLUSION

Some churches believe in tithing, which is giving 10% of your income to God. However, other churches just encourage their members to give according to what is in their hearts.

Whatever your belief is, make it a habit to honour God with your resources. It is one way of acknowledging that everything you have is from God, and when you give back to Him, you should not feel bad because you know it will be given back to you.

Friends,  Jesus is coming back soon.  If you have not known Him, I plead with you to surrender your heart and troubles to Him now.  It is a prayer that should come from your heart.

Today is the day of salvation. Tomorrow could be too late.

Say this simple prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ.

I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again for my justification. I repent of my sins and ask for forgiveness. I ask Jesus to come into my heart and reign as my Lord and Saviour.

I receive Him by faith and I am born again.

  1. Your calculation of tithing is not correct. You state that for business it is 10% of your profit but for personal it is 10% of your income.
It is 10% of your increase not 10% of your income.
That means that after all of your living expenses are taken out anything that you have left free and clear is your increase.
If you have nothing left after all of your costs for food running costs etc then you owe nothing
    No tithing .
As you have already said, in business profit is your increase.
All. Churches have knowingly and willing cheated their members.
    Very Christian I think
I knew this from when I first went to church
    Cheers

  2. You say that Jesus endorsed tithing, of course he did I don’t remember hearing anything about him working for a living, he wandered around living off other people, sounds familiar doesn’t it.
