Obesity is not a cosmetic concern – it increases your risk for ailments like heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancers, back pain, sleep acpnea, mental health problems, and more.

Obesity is usually caused by eating disorder, it is a lifestyle disease that may be related to other medical conditions. Obesity is most common among adults but can affect the elderly, teens, and even children. 

Obesity is a disorder where you have an excessive amount of body fat. This disorder can limit your mobility and lead to overall poor health. While there is no easy cure for obesity, reducing your body fat through adjustments to your diet and to your lifestyle can allow you to shed your excess body weight. 

Obesity can, in many cases, be overcome! If you are keen to overcome obesity or help someone else who is obese, consider working with a professional towards your goal and altering your diet, activity level, and lifestyle choices.

Obesity as an Attack
Obesity is an eating disorder that becomes an attack on your body when you allow it to persist for long. Over the years, alot of money has been spent on research, trying to discover the causes and treatment of Obesity, but I caution that eating quality food, monitoring your food intake, and exercising regularly remains your best strategy to stay out of Obesity.

When a person is not very active, for instance, you are on holiday, out of job etc which means you are not busy going up and down 24/7, then you should reduce your food intake for that period of time.  Childhood obesity has become endemic in developed countries with a prevalence level of 20% of children in those countries being obese and 16% of adults having abdominal obesity. 

The purpose of this write up is to highlight preventive measure that an individual having obesity of the abdomen, waist and whole body can take to be free from the physical challenges of obesity.

Obesity is a complex disorder involving an excessive amount of body fat. Obesity isn't just a cosmetic concern. It increases your risk of diseases and health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Obesity increases the risk of heart diseases in children and adults. The unususal reality of Obesity is that some women ate themselves into Obesity and are still eating with the aims of being the Fattest woman, woman with the largest Hip,  most Curvy woman etc

Causes of Obesity
Being extremely obese means you are especially likely to have health problems related to your weight. Although there are genetic, behavioral and hormonal influences on body weight, obesity occurs when you take in more calories than you burn through exercise and normal daily activities. The good news is that even modest weight loss can improve or prevent the health problems associated with obesity. Dietary changes, increased physical activity and behavior changes can help you lose weight. Prescription medications and weight-loss surgery are additional options for treating obesity.

1. Inactivity - If you're not very active, you don't burn as many calories. With a sedentary lifestyle, you can easily take in more calories every day than you use through exercise and normal daily activities.
2. Unhealthy diet and eating habits -  Weight gain is inevitable if you regularly eat more calories than you burn. And most Americans' diets are too high in calories and are full of fast food and high-calorie beverages.

3. Certain medications - Some medications can lead to weight gain if you don't compensate through diet or activity. 
4. Age. Obesity can occur at any age, even in young children. But as you age, hormonal changes and a less active lifestyle increase your risk of obesity. 

5. Pregnancy -  During pregnancy, a woman's weight necessarily increases. Some women find this weight difficult to lose after the baby is born. This weight gain may contribute to the development of obesity in women.
6. Lack of sleep -  Not getting enough sleep or getting too much sleep can cause changes in hormones that increase your appetite. When you keep late night, studying or praying, you will discover your body need food to keep you awake and reading, as you respond with more food and beverage intake, you are adding to your weight.

Practical Steps

When the wisdom of God is upon a person, it makes him to deal wisely in the affairs of life. 
Success in life is a product of wisdom.  The blessing of God is a manifestation of the wisdom of God and when you walk in wisdom, you are walking in the blessings of God.  Wise people who enjoy good health, watch what they eat.

They do not just eat, they are careful to select the type and quantity of food they eat.  They also ensure same quality to to their children.  This is why you discover that rich and wealthy people are able to maintain their look and weight over a long period of time.  They seem to have mastered healthy living and eating. They eat light, with heavy concentration on fruits, and vegetables. 

They stay in the love of God, guiding their emotions and appetite diligently and flee from every appearance of sin.  Now to the practical steps to freedom from Obesity: 

Strategies to Break Free:

1. Hit Yourself Hard
Remember this is not a professional advise, so it is not appropriate for everyone.  But it will surprise you that if you can inconvenience yourself and change your eating habit for a long time, unwanted accumulated fat will gradually 'drop-off' your body.  It is very effective in reducing your body size, especially at the early stage of fat accumulation.

There is no easy way to reduce accumulated fat in the body than drastic reduction of food intake.  You may feel as though you will die, but it is not true, if you can endure for long without the pleasure of eating meat, chocolates, soft drinks and beer, wine etc.  

If you can ignore and even forget those delicious meals of yours  and settle for vegetables and water, you will effectively cut the nutrients feeding your body to fat and regain control of your body.

2. So, Eat Fresh fruits and Vegetables, drink Water!
This simple ADVICE will save your body so much protein, Fat, Oil and Carbohydrates and help you to reduce in size drastically within a short period of time. The ability to continue with the diet for long will determine the success you will record.

For the avoidance of doubt, this is just like fasting and you will normally feel weak and without strength but you health is sustained without any side effect. If you are not a 'faster' - someone familiar with fasting and sometimes dry fasting, you may not be able to run with this idea.  You can also treat obesity by taking weight loss medication or talking to your doctor about weight loss surgery.

3. Take enough Rest - While watching what you eat is important, you should also take enough rest, drink plenty of water, exercise your body.  That Container carrying your soul and spirit, once it is brought down and weakened could terminate the person's earthly journey, take care of your body. Stop stressing yourself and worrying, worry is another killer that does not bring solution, but instead make matter worse. 

4. Fasting and praying.  This is not popular with many people, however it is a well proven weight reduction strategy.  For fasting to be effective, you should prayerfully carry through for months, and learn to break your fast with water or hot tea.  Do not eat for the first three to five hours, after breaking your fast.

God's prescription summarized - Genesis 1:29:

Eat fruits and leaves - 
Drink enough water
Exercise your body
Take enough rest
Stop worrying, rather pray!

True life story: You should know that as a child of God, He will see you through any troubles of life.  Let this be settled in your heart, so you will give Him thanks for whatever happens to you and then pray about the matter and commit it to God.  People who walk in faith and wisdom of God live longer. 

There was a young preacher who grew up to know that Cancer was in the family.  He saw some of relatives die of it, including his mother. So, he knew there was the danger he would die like others and he started praying and asking God for the way out.

God brought him into contact with a man who told him to change his eating habits, if he wanted to live and not die of Cancer. The fellow asked him to study Genesis 1:29, the heavenly prescription of God for man in the beginning: 

 "And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food".

He adviced him to drop all junk food, live simple and as God made man to live from creation...and to continue that way for some time.  The man accepted the advise, being desperate for solution and went on fruits and leaves.  After a period of 6 - 7 months, the cancer had shrinked down before it vanished. The man is still alive today and healthy at over 80 years of age!

What the bible said about Healthy Lifestyle

1. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

2. 1 Corinthians 10:31 - So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

3. 1 Corinthians 3:17 - If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

4. Romans 12:1-2 - I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

5. Genesis 1:29 - And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

6. 3 John 1:2 - Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.

7. Proverbs 17:22 - A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
