JESUS CHRIST..............The Light that Shineth in Darkness!

JESUS CHRIST

Introduction

It gives me great pleasure to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ with you. Our messiah Jesus was a unique personality when he came to the earth and thereafter.  If there is any personality that has influenced the earth like no one else, it is Jesus Christ.

Jesus was more than an ordinary man. In the book of John 1, he was described as the Word that was with God in the beginning.  It says "In the beginning was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

Jesus' Life Story was Predicted and described centuries before His birth according to Isaiah 7:14, Zechariah 9:9, Mica 5:2.

Apostle John, one of His disciples also described Him, saying "We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1: 1-3, 14) "He is the image of the invisible God. The firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in Heaven and earth, visible and invisible... He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together." - Colossians 1:15-17

If you receive the light, which Jesus gives, you will never walk in darkness again. If His light is inside of you, no one will easily deceive you.  I hear people say that someone deceived them and defrauded them. That shows that the Light of God is not active in that life when the Light comes, illumination comes and darkness disappears.

The Light reveals the hidden secrets of the heart. You have read instances when crafty young men would deceive a big woman and siphon huge amount of money from her in the guise of marriage or business - It is because the light of God is not active in that life.

Once, I told my Mechanic I needed a rugged car that can withstand the rough Nigerian roads.  He said he had reliable car dealers in Kaduna, from where I could make my choice of a rugged car. Then I got some money together and told him I am ready to buy the car.

But, a day before our planned journey to Kaduna from Abuja, the Lord told me not to go...He said they will sell a stolen car to me.  He said they have organized three different cars for me to inspect and all the cars were stolen.  What do you call that? - Advance knowledge and that's what the Light does to you - He gives you timely information that will deliver you from trouble.

Jesus told the woman by the well that if she drinks the water He gives, she will never thirst again.  If the Light is in you, He will guide you through life.  The Light will be a lamp to your feet, so you would not stumble and fall.  This Light is from above and trustworthy, this Light is Jesus Christ, son of the Living God.

In 1 Timothy 2:5, He was described as the mediator between man and God.  It says  "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men: the man Christ Jesus.".  He who has the Son has life: he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (I John 5:12)

You know some people would say "Ooh if only I had started the business, my life would have changed for better.  They will start the business and nothing changes, instead they begin to owe debts.

Dangers of Trusting in Man
Some guys think "if only I get an MBA or qualify as an Accountant, I would have a good job.  They will struggle and get the MBA and professional qualifications and yet,  there may still be no job for them. Such people forget that ....it is not in him that willeth or in him that runneth, but in God that showeth mercy. It's good to work hard, but it is not the hard work alone that guarantee success, success is from God and it is for those that are hard working.

Whenever you put your trust in man or anything else, other than Jesus, you can be sure it will fail. Man will fail you, human wisdom, the tradition will fail you also, but Jesus will never fail you, Accept Him today.

In Mathew 11:28, He gave an invitation to all men, saying " Come unto me, all ye that have laboured and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. He will give you rest, not as the world gives.  He will give you peace of mind and peace of heart, again not as the world gives.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John, and this man was born as a witness to the Light I am talking about.  John the Baptist came primarily to bear witness to Christ and to prepare the heart of men to receive Him, the Light and walk in the newness of life He brings.

Since the coming of John, devout men, apostles, prophets etc has been bearing witness of Him.  I am also bearing the same witness to you today, saying that JESUS CHRIST is the Light from heaven to us. I bear witness that Jesus is the Son of God, who died to take away the sins of mankind and reconcile man to God.

Jesus Has Power

If you know Jesus deeper, you will put your trust in Him. If you know the power of Jesus, nothing will ever terrify you. He has power over the earth and heaven, behold, all power is given to Him over:

Over Nature: He has power over the forces of nature. In Luke  8:23-25, he rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and the storm subsided, and all was calm. "where is your, faith?" he asked His disciples. In fear and amazement, they asked one another. "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him." (Luke 8:23-25)

Supernatural: - He had power over the supernatural. The people were amazed at his teaching because he taught them as one who had authority. Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out. "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are - the Holy One of God!" "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!... The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. The people were all so amazed that they asked each other. "What is this? New teaching and with authority: He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey." (Mark 1:22-27)

Over Disease: - He had power over disease. "Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her, so he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. That evening after sunset, the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. The whole town gathered at the door, and Jesus healed many who had various diseases." (Mark 1: 30-34)

Over Death: - He had power over death. "Jesus' friend Lazarus had died, but Jesus called him out of the grave. Jesus called in a loud voice. "Lazarus, come out:" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go." (John 11: 43-44)

What  Jesus said about Himself:

He is the Messiah. "The high priest asked him. "Are you the Christ the Son of the Blessed One?" "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven" (Mark 14:61-62).

He is the way to God. "Jesus answered. "I am the way and truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

He is God. "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30). "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me." (John 14:9-11)

He is the light in our darkness. "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8: 12)

He satisfies. Jesus declared. "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty" (John 6:35). "My purpose is to give life in all its fullness." (John 10: 10)

He forgives sins. "Some men brought to him a paralytic lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son: your sins are forgiven." At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!" Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said. "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say your sins are forgiven, ' or to say, get up and walk'? But so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins. Then he (Jesus) said to the paralytic. "Get up, take your mat and go home." And the man got up and went home.  When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe: and they praised God, who had given such authority to men." (Matthew 9:2-8)

Jesus changed the Lives of Others

He was born for this purpose, for the bible says the blood of goat and sheep cannot wash away sin, only the perfect and righteous blood of Jesus can. He was born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. I ask you to receive HIM today and stay true to Him.

The good news is that as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. Saul encountered the Light on his way to Damascus and fell to the ground, and by the time he stood up, he could not see for the glory of the Light was much - Acts 22:11

And from that moment, Saul became Paul the disciple and Apostle. The Lord gave him the power to be numbered among the saints and to fulfil his ministry in Christ as we know it today.
