BROKEN-HEARTED AND ABANDONED......Pray God to sends a Good Samaritan to you!

Introduction
Life and experiences of life could be so unpredictable.  There are many unexpected occurrences and mysteries.  Some of the events can hardly be explained.  How can you explain a boy drowning in a Pool side party with over 50 Life Guards present?

It is the nature of man to assume certain things and then think the opposite is hard to come, which may never be true. Many people keep a close knitted relationship with people for the benefits and support they receive from friends - That's okay.

But when it become an expectation...When a man puts his hope on friends and associates, then know the person will experience failure.

The reason some people are hopeful of getting a job, contract or even Visa is because of a friend or close relation that is close to 'power' in the area he is expecting help from. The warning here is never to allow any friend or close relation take the place of God, rather pray that God use anyone to bring you the benefit.

Resist the Temptation to backslide
In Psalms, God warned those people going to Egypt for help to expect more woes.  He says He will increase their woes. In Jeremiah 9:2-4, Jeremiah warned the Israelites not to put their trust in their neighbours.

All trust should be placed on the Almighty God, who knows all things and doeth all things. Any hope, trust or expectation built on influential people in society, including the church and relatives will bring disappointment and failure.  If you have ever been disappointed before, then you will realize this message is very relevant.  The people you are depending on are mortal beings with their own problems and expectations, so anything can happen.

Take the story told by Jesus in Luke 10:30-37 -  "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.

There is a good Samaritan, the Lord can send
But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.' Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbour to him who fell among the robbers?"
Imagine this man that fell among robbers and they striped him, took what he had and beat him up, leaving him half dead. He encountered a Priest, supposedly Ambassador of Christ, and he could not help him, then the  levite came along also and had no mercy on the bleeding man.

These two are the best suited to help him due to their knowledge of the word of God, but they saw him and passed away. When ever your trusted friends, relatives and other disappoint you, know that as a child of God, the Almighty will send you help from Zion.

So, a stranger, a gentile that the Jews have no relationship with, came on along, saw the bleeding man and had compassion on him. This merciful Samaritan took him up, dressed his wounds and took him to the Inn, where treatment can be obtained for the injured man.

This is the irony of expectation.
When you fall into trouble, when you loose your job, loved ones or even business and you are depressed, where do you turn to for help?  Friends, relatives or influential people in society or to God.  How many times did you receive help from the expected quarters? Many atimes, the people and places you turn to for help always disappoint. But when God is involved, that help can come from any quarter, albeit from unexpected quarters...from a good Samaritan.
Apart from help, the story demonstrates why we should receive and love everyone.  You don't know where your help will come from. Years gone, I use to know some zealous Christians who would never give a woman lift in their car , no matter what and I ask Why? - They are running away from temptation.  But today, we know better that such people are weak towards the opposite sex and their action is in self defense...or is it suppressing their flesh, which does not solve the problem.
But, you know that suppressing the flesh will never solve a deep spiritual problem like lust.  If the problem is not dealt with, one day, the spirit will disgrace the person, God forbid it for you.  I will usually advice that you cannot use physical means to fight a spiritual problem. If the spirit of lust is already inside, or spirit of a woman is tormenting and manipulating a man to commit sin, he should pray the demon out of his body - A believer has been given that authority from Christ.

What to Do

1. The first thing to do is to pray.  The Lord has assured us that when we call upon Him, He will answer us and show us great and mighty things which we knew not.  When you face situations that look too tough, enter boldly into the throne of God's mercy and ask for help.  We have His assurance of answered prayers.

Why you should pray

When it comes to prayer, the Lord is ready and willing to answer all our prayers, especially according to our faith.  If you believe and pray to God concerning anything, He would answer you, that your joy may be full.  He says "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land".

And this should be the confidence that motivates you to pray continually and at any time you have needs.  It is written that "if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him".

So, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. What you need to do is to trust in the Lord and His promises.  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Pray without ceasing, and whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Remember that if you will begin to pray and all the time, the Spirit Himself will help our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Watch and Wait on Him
The Lord says, when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.  Keep praying and keep asking what you want because it is written, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  Remember to fast also.

You know the reason why you should pray boldly to the Lord, it is because He has already promised to answer you when you call to Him.  He says "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known".

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Especially, pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

The Lord says...Do not forget to pray for people in authority, over the Church of Christ, the nation, state and other constituted authorities.  The Lord urge you and every christian that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that children of God may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2. Receive and love everyone as yourself, prayerfully deal with a problem and resolve it.  Never seek to solve a spiritual problem using physical means - It will not work.

3. Don't be afraid to ask God to send a 'good Samaritan' your way.  They are destiny helpers, don't ask for your name before they help you. Can be of any colour and nationality...May be your kinsman or foreigner.
4. Put your trust in God and be sure He will send you help from Zion, when everyone else fail you.
