MARRYING AGAIN?......Yes, My children advised me to remarry, says Abiara

US Senate, others honour Abiara at 75

Prophet Samuel Abiara, the immediate past general evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church worldwide, has married a new wife.

She is Grace Ojewande, a native of Ifetedo, Osun State.

The wedding ceremony which  was held at Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala Itura, Ibadan, on Thursday, drew many dignitaries including renown Christian leaders.

Prophet Abiara, 75, took the news bride, one and a half years after he lost Christiana Abiara, his over 50-year-old spouse.

Interestingly, the new wife, who was beaming with smiles through-out the colourful occasion is said to be in her early 50s. Reports further revealed that the new bride had never been married or bore any child before exchanging marital vows with the revered clergyman.

Reports also indicate that Ojewande is a member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries and works as a Level 16 officer at the Lagos State Ministry of Education.

Explaining why he took a new wife, even at 75, Prophet Abiara had said it was due to God’s directive and advice of his children.

According to him: “My children, who are now grown-ups, held a meeting and concluded that I should get a new wife who will attend to my everyday needs at old age. After due consideration and having satisfied my conscience that my children’s suggestion was in conformity with the scriptures, I made up my mind to marry a new wife”.

“The Bible established it that when a man loses his wife, he has the right to remarry. I am acting based on the directive of God and the advice of my children.”

Papa, as Prophet Abiara is fondly called, retired recently as a general evangelist of C.A.C. worldwide at the church’s headquarters in Ibadan.
