Some issues are uppermost in the agenda of God, and one of them is the salvation of souls. This was so great a matter in the beginning that God had to send His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to this earth to reconcile us back to Himself.

So, the Son of God came to save the lost, preaching and teaching people the ways of God, and how to serve God and not idols.  He went about preaching and teaching - Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand - Mathew 4:17, and as He went preaching and teaching, He was also healing the sick, delivering the oppressed by the devil and comforting the weak.  He manifested the presence of God His Father and nothing was too hard for Him to deal with.

As it was in the beginning when God sent Jesus to the earth, so it is now that the second coming of Jesus is at hand.  The world we live in today is in dare need of soul winners and evangelists to boldly speak to people about Jesus Christ where ever they will find people.

Every child of God knows the devil is seriously devastating humanity with strange doctrines that negates God and everything about God.  The devil deceives people that the life they live is their own and that no one called Jesus Christ died for their sin and brought salvation to them.

Whatever God said we should not do, in His word, the devil have lied to men they can do it and even openly. Can you imagine the deception that there is no God, or that a man can marry a man, woman to woman, a man marrying two sisters or two friends.

Look at marriages today and tell me what you see, children deceiving their parents, parents deceiving the children and so much unfaithfulness, all because of the lack of the word of God.  Who will voice the truth to the many people confused in the world today - Its me and you, the body and mouthpiece of Jesus Christ today.

We know that the devil lies and deceives people, but Jesus saves, heals and blesses people and we will manifest the presence of Jesus everywhere we enter to preach and teach His gospel and this is pleasing to the Almighty God, for Jesus Christ Himself said it that if the children of the generation will believe that Jesus Christ lives, they must see signs and wonders.

Christ is in us and we are Christ-like, so His presence and abiding grace will go with us everywhere we go.  We must faithfully commit to soul winning as many have not known the Lord Jesus Christ, though many have heard His name.

An old woman heard the gospel of Jesus recently and confessed that in her whole life ...and she was approaching 90 years, she never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.  A brother afflicted with sleep disorder told his doctor and said  "I know that my God will heal me".

The Doctor asked him to repeat what he said and the brother say "My God will heal me of this disease" and the Dr in Holland replied and said "You are the first person I have treated that mentioned his God" That brother is completely healed today and he sleeps freely without any aid.

Believers are walking about like orphans, when we have a great and mighty God.  Many of them cover their bible - The Word of God in their hand, so they would not be identified as Christians.

There are clear signs everywhere to let believers know that the time to resume house-to-house evangelism and soul winning is now.  Today. churches are empty in developed countries, where the youth believe they don't need God to exist and succeed in life and in Africa, the churches are jam-packed with people seeking the blessing and prosperity of God and very few are ready to serve Him.

This s the reason why many churches are cold and spiritually weak.  Many are in the church of God today without knowing Jesus Christ or desiring to surrender to Him and so such people continue with their old lifestyle after becoming a 'christian' - Are they Christ-like?

I believe the gospel preached with the power of the Holy Ghost will convicts these brothers and sister God has brought into the church, so the Pastors must arise to the challenge of preaching and teaching Jesus Christ and the price He paid for our sins at the cross, and teaching and preaching with power = help of the Holy Spirit.

If we will not take the death of our Lord for granted or live a selfish life, then we must all awake to the truth that we are the tools in the hand of Jesus Christ to reach sinners.  When Jesus commissioned us to go and preach the gospel to every creature, and promising to be with us, even unto the end of the world, He knew He is the one going to do the work, by the Holy Spirit in us, but we must make our body available and go to the places where people, unbelievers are for Jesus to preach to them and convict them.

We are the hands and legs of Jesus Christ to do anything and if we are not available or willing, we are not fulfilling our calling in Christ.  Evangelism or soul winning is for every believer as far as you have believed the gospel and the Holy Spirit of God is inside of you, and the Lord is inside so many of us, but many are so shy or too gentle to visit the sick in the hospital and command healing on them, many are so afraid to talk to a stranger about Jesus Christ, our Lord and saviour.

Meanwhile, a christian who is not winning souls do not know the joy of the Lord that is lacking in him, the joy of bringing someone to Christ and watch that person grow in faith.  Believers who are not witnessing or evangelizing for Christ knows only a little about their Master - You will know His Power more in the 'field', as you witness and share the gospel, the Lord will reveal deeper things about Himself to you.

The compassion to win souls for Christ usually comes from a grateful heart and a heart that has love for people.  If I remember that without Jesus Christ in my life, I would not be alive today.

If you know that many souls are dead today because they did not know that by calling upon the name of the Lord, they would be saved from the wrath of the devil, then you will be more willing to win souls. If you know that many are about to join the camp of the devil either as occultists, prostitutes, witches etc, if you know that many young ones are wondering what the second coming of Christ really means, then you will jump up to witness to them.

If you realize that the hundreds of people committing suicide today and it looks as though one killing himself when things are not working is normal is happening because those people have not know the Lord or heard his gospel preached with power.  Think of it, why should anyone kill himself and go straight to hell fire to suffer for eternity?

For us to have a better society today will depend on me and you, spreading of the knowledge of God.  Science and its technology cannot answer the questions of life, but God the creator can.  Without the knowledge and fear of God, the moral decadence we are witnessing today will be a child's place for thing thing to come in the future before Christ comes.

If we don't rise to our calling as Christians - Christ like and preach, teach and win souls for Christ, the lust and seduction that is in town today may enter the church and deplete the body of Christ.

Can I assure you that as we witness Christ and win souls, the Lord will deliver us from our enemies (Physical and spiritual enemies) so that we serve and work for Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives, which is an oath the Lord sware to our father Abraham Luke 1:70-75.

May I assure you that as we serve God in evangelism and soul winning, His presence around us shall be mighty and the power He  gave us to caste out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead shall come alive in each and every one of us.

The power of God to trample upon serpent and scorpions and all the power of the enemy will begin to work in your lives and like the seventy disciples returned in Luke 10:17-20  to Jesus Christ with joy, saying Lord, even the devils were subject unto us through thy name, that will be your testimony also - for He has given us power over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall be any means hurt us.

I know many of us are in the evangelical prayer team and you are saying, but I have been praying for the souls to be saved.  Prayer is good and as a matter of fact, the evangelism or soul winning team dares not go out without praying, if you don't bind the strongman, how can you take his 'property' away?

We will pray and still make ourselves available to witness and speak to people about Christ and salvation in Him.  The purpose of His coming to earth to reconcile us to God, the works He did on earth, the men He raised, people He healed and delivered etc and His death and resurrection in glory and our justification.  The fact that eternity in heaven or hell is real and we shall all face the judgement seat of Christ in the days to come are some of the things we have to let people know.

We must also assure the youths that it is possible to live right.  Our Father is holy and that gene is in us as believers.  You shall be holy as your Father in heaven is holy is possible. It is possible to live a holy and righteous life, a blameless life before God if we depend on God and use His word as a standard for our lives.  If we acquaint ourselves with His Word and obey and do what the Word says,  we shall live a godly life that is pleasing to Him.

Remember, He is in us through the Holy Spirit and so as we have faith and believe, He will work in us both to will and to do those things that are pleasing to Him.  As we live and move and have our being in Him, so He also live and move and have His being in us, who believe and receive Him and are willing to yield ourselves to Him.

He is in us and wishes to visit people always, the Prisoners, the sick people, the unbelievers and sinners to fix their problems, heal, encourage them and give them hope through me and you.  Brethren, I want you to see that you are complete in Him to witness and win souls, and whatever is lacking He will supply. I also want you to know that praying is good and necessary, but going out to meet and introducing Christ to them is no longer negotiable as soul winning is the call of every believer in Christ.

Why should we witness and win Souls?

1. It is Commanded in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

Jesus, our Master started it and the apostles and disciples follow His footsteps in that direction - Acts 5:42, “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”

2. It is a wise thing to do - Proverbs 11:30, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

3. It Glorifies God - John 15:8, “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”

4. It Delivers Souls From Hell - Ezekiel 3:17-18, “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”

5. There are Crowns and Rewards -  1 Thessalonians 2:19, “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?” Daniel 12:3, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

Basic Requirements for a Soul Winner:

1. Holy Spirit Power
It is the Holy Ghost that sends us out to go and win souls, and so if you don't have the Holy Spirit living inside of you, though you desire to go for evangelism, your work may be fruitless.  This is why the first requirement is having the holy Spirit.  This was emphasized by our Master Himself to the disciples, when He told them “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).

Beloved, without the Holy Spirit inside of you, you preaching and teaching will be devoid of power and meaningless.  You will be talking to yourself and your word would be letters and not the Spirit.

2. Assurance of Salvation
You must know without doubt that you’ve been saved!!! “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:13)

3. Purity of heart and conducts in Life
God desires to use clean vessels.

2 Timothy 2:21: “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”

Psalms 18:20: “The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.”

Psalms 24:4: “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”

1 John 2:15, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

4. Willing and Available
If you are willing and available, Jesus will use your body to visit and speak to sinners and unbelievers and you will know that He is the one speaking, if your vessel is clean “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)

5. Burden for Souls
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” (Matthew 9:36)

6. Prayer
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.” (Romans 10:1) See also John 15:1-8.

As you meditate on this write-up, comfort yourself by the fact that many brothers and sisters have passed through the same tensions we are experiencing today, but by hard-work and commitment to fulfilling their calling, they ended up as great evangelists.

What did the Bible say about Soul winning?

Mark 16:15 - And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

Matthew 28:19-20 -  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Romans 10:10-17 - For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? ...

Matthew 9:37-38 - Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

1 Peter 3:15 - But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

1 Corinthians 9:22 - To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.

Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Acts 1:8 -  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

2 Timothy 4:5 -  As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Mark 16:15-16 -  And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Colossians 4:2-6 - Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Luke 19:10 - For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Matthew 28:18-20 - And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

1 Corinthians 1:17 - For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

2 Timothy 2:15  - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Mark 16:16 - Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Acts 2:38 - And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 12:8 - “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God,

Matthew 10:7-14 - And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay. Acquire no gold nor silver nor copper for your belts, no bag for your journey, nor two tunics nor sandals nor a staff, for the laborer deserves his food. And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart. ...

Romans 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Romans 5:8 - But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16 -  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

1 Peter 3:18-22 -  For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

John 3:16-17 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Ephesians 2:10 -  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Daniel 12:3 - And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

1 Corinthians 11:1-2 - Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. Now I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you.

Acts 2:1-47 - When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. ...

Acts 8:4-25 -  Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. John 6:50-71 -  This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. ...

Romans 2:6-16 - He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5  - And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Matthew 11:28 - Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Ephesians 4:11 - And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,

Romans 15:20 - And thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation, But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question.

Colossians 1:28 -  Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

Romans 1:5-6 - Through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ,

If the church continues to evangelize 'saved' members and the church building while sinners and unbelievers are sinking deeper into evil, the youths going deeper in the things of Satan, then we are certainly not fulfilling our calling as Christians - Christ like.

We must muster courage to step out of the church buildings and the comfort of our homes to get into the street, offices and market places with the message of Jesus Christ, the parks and in our places of work and influence.  We must be ready to learn at His feet and produce fruit worthy of our calling as believers.
