WHY IS THE 'NEW MAN' IN CHRIST........Still Struggling with Poverty?

KINGDOM PROSPERITY
1. The new man must seek light in the areas he is suffering hardship
2. Money is not wealth. You are rich, the day you receive light
3. Light comes through study and meditation of the Word

Introduction

A 'New man' is a man or woman born again by the Word of God and filled with the Spirit of God.  He is full of the power of God, whether he knows it or not and God is ever delighted by the 'new man'.  For such a man, his past is over and all things have become new.

Why is the 'new man' in Christ still suffering and struggling with poverty?  Why do we have believers who do not seem to know how to get out of poverty? The answer is not as simple as it seem.  Poverty is a complex issue because there are many causes of poverty.  But a born again Christian has a good chance to get out of poverty if he cries to God for ideas and work diligently in the right direction.

Shelter for the homeless - on the street

Poverty
Whoever wants to get out of poverty, must admit his condition and cry to God for help.  He should pray to God to give him ideas, inspiration, and direction of what to do.  You have to lean on God for idea and direction, and then run with the idea from God. If that person assumes that God will automatically pull him out of poverty, I'm sorry, such a person will remain in his condition.

It is a divine rule that you will take the step of faith, that will take you out of poverty, not God.  But you should lean on Him for the instruction and direction of what to do, but the steps of faith, you will have to do that, otherwise, the poor can perish in poverty.  If you are comfortable in your poverty, God will allow you to live with it until you are tired and cry to Him, then He will help you.

Another reason for poverty in the lives of believers is that the kingdom operates on keys.  You open the doors you have the key into and so the more you know, the more keys you possess and the more your star will shine. The 'new man' is a wonderful experience, but he knows little about the kingdom and kingdom prosperity answers to the knowledge of the covenants of Abraham which promised us.  It answers to obedience of the word of God and fulfilling your part of the covenant of wealth.  It also answers to diligence and hard work and the operation of the spirit of excellence.

Divine Prosperity

It is the will of God for His children to prosper, but God did not promise it. He says that He wishes above all things that we should prosper and be in good health, even as our soul prospereth.  So you have to work-out your salvation in every godly manner. Your salvation offers you a new Platform to compete with others, knowing the presence of the Lord is with you.

If there are things that were difficult for you before you gave your heart to Christ, you have to prepare yourself again and attempt those things, because you have Christ with you now.  You cannot fail with Christ on your side if you have done your homework well and you have taken the right steps.  So, the righteous need not fear anything, or be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present his requests to God.

Joseph was a prosperous man because the presence of God was with him, and he was faithful in handling what was trusted into his hands.  In Luke 16:10-11, the bible says “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?  If you can commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

If you want to prosper after your salvation, you need to acquire relevant skills, be honest and straight forward in all your dealings with people, big and small.  No crookedness should be found in you, as a righteous man.  You must trust the Lord for all your supplies and work hard righteously.  As the Bible has promised in Isaiah 33:15-17, if you walk righteously and speaks uprightly, if you despise the gain of oppressions, if you shakes-off your hands, lest they hold a bribe, if you will stop your ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts your eyes from looking on evil, then, you will dwell on the heights; your place of defence will be the fortresses of rocks.  Your bread will be given to you and your water will be sure. Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar - That is prosperity!.

In Christ, you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you - Phil 4:13.  All you need to do is to take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  In Genesis 39:2-6, a young man, Joseph took delight in God by studying and applying His words in his life and God was with him.  The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master, and when his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.

God's presence with Joseph and Joseph's faithfulness in handling what was entrusted to him was proven by his master and rewarded. The scriptures says that from the time, Potiphar put Joseph in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.

characters of kingdom prosperity

1. Prosperity is not commanded, it is worked out.

2. Prosperity does not answer to praying and fasting.  Be it dry fasting, white fasting or coloured fasting, it is a covenant issue.

3. First, you enter into the covenant, and then you are committed to doing your part of the covenant.

4. The Lord gives us the power to get wealth, but you will have to work it out.

5. Put in another way, the Lord gives you the platform, but you will have to develop the idea into a tangible product, manufacture the product and sell it before your harvest appears. If you are not able to do so, your harvest will pend.
6. God no longer rain manna from heaven. He did it for the Israelite because they were serving punishment for the wrong words they spoke to God, which showed their unbelief in the power of God to take them to the promised land. So, God kept them there for 40 years in the wilderness. They were just eating manna, but there was no progress until all the offenders were dead.
7. God will never do what he has given you wisdom and power to do.  If He gives you an idea and you cannot birth the idea into a tangible service, your poverty will continue.

IN REALITY:

Let us assume that the 'new man' who the Lord has just shined His light in his heart is a village boy without any meaningful skills, other than praying and fasting.  He would have to take some serious steps to walk out of poverty.

His first step would be to come down from being a full-time prayer warrior and look for a job, or business to do.  He can also learn a Trade or Skill that will be his source of income in the future. This is important because God blesses what is in our hands or the works of our hands.  If there is nothing in your hands, meaning you are not working or doing any kind of business that God can prosper, then there is nothing for God to bless.

Destiny Direction - While he is learning a trade or doing business, he is asking God for destiny direction. After asking for a while, he begins to seek direction with his eyes open and sensitive.  He reviews different business ventures that catch his fancy, with a view to choosing one of them.

Then he returns to God with a cry for definite direction concerning the businesses he has understudies, for God to direct him on which one to do. This is the fulfilment of Mathew 7:7 - Ask, seek and knock and you shall find.

After such a cry for mercy, God would normally do 'something' for him through revelation in the dream, word encounter or using a person who would show sympathy and willingness to help the brother move forward in life.  Favour is bound to come from somewhere.  In all these, he must not depart from studying the Word, praying and fasting, for that is his source.

PROSPERITY IN THE KINGDOM:

You are in Charge
You are ultimately responsible for working out your finances, but if you believe the Lord and walk in obedience, you will receive the wisdom to get wealth.  The bible did not say God will give you wealth but He said He will give you "the ability" to make wealth. Don't be deceived or misled that the Lord gives wealth because if you still have that mindset you might end up being impoverished.

The Lord gives us the ability or power to make wealth and not wealth itself. So this is the secret of the power to make wealth ..."remember your GOD..." in all that you do and commit your ways into His hands.  There is two powers that God gives His children in order to prosper them.  The first power is given to you when you receive Christ as Lord and Saviour.  For the bible says to them that believe in His name, to them, gave He the power to becomes sons of God.

Ask for Power
It is your duty to pray and ask for wealth after receiving Christ.  You will do better asking for wisdom to get wealth, than asking for wealth. Remember that everything you need from God will require that you receive the power or grace to obtain it.  If you are sick, you need the power to get well - Healing.  If you are jobless, you need the power to get a job, a good job.  You also need the power to get favour from people far and near.

Wait for this...You also need the power to connect to destiny helpers that will help you achieve your dreams.  You cannot achieve much alone, especially of you have a big dream or big assignment which the Lord has asked you to do, you need destiny helpers that will stick to you until you get to your destination and remain committed and loyal.

Brethren, you also need the power to manage people well.  If you can manage money and cannot manage people, your money will soon finish and you are back to square one.  I am going this far because I am looking at how to acquire divine wealth and how God releases the grace for wealth to people.  Ask for power to manage your finances, different from the power to manage people, because you will need to know how to plan, budget and prioritize your expenses from day today. When you have made these requests, I want to assure you that God is ready to bless you, even more than you can even imagine, but you must have His Holy Spirit working in you.

Know the Holy Ghost
The gift of the Holy Spirit is indispensable in the life of a child of God because He is the power of God to do all things here on earth.  When you are born again, you receive a new Spirit inside you.  But for the Holy Spirit to work maximally in your life, you will have to yield your life to Him, and He will start the work of cleansing and purifying you.

This is done through the way He will expose your sins to you for you to repent and desist from evil ways.  The Holy Ghost will also rebuke you when you do or say wrong things so that you can correct your mistakes and avoid the same error in the future.  The Holy Spirit will warn you of things you should not do and say, and if you will accept his rebuke, warning and prompting and change your way, your life will be transformed and when you ask for wealth, it will be easy for the Spirit to also guide you into wealth.

You must receive the power to be called the son of God before you seek power to get wealth.  God is good and kind, so not only will He give you power if you request, He will, in addition, give you the Holy Ghost.  To prosper under Christ or from Christ, you need the power to get wealth, and that power is released to you through the Holy Ghost.  The Holy Ghost is the power of God working in you, that is able to make you do all things and achieve all things.  Without the Holy Ghost guiding, advising and directing you, you are far from a success, whether big or small.

Establish a Business or Trade, Service etc
God will bless you through the power that is at work in you, but you must discover where your talent lies, what business or service, you can do better than others and establish.  You should never be discouraged by the initial failure or suffering involved. Establish a service or business after hearing from God and follow-through have it started.

Then you need the Holy Ghost to guide your way, from what to do, how to do it etc. if you don't have the Holy Ghost, you have limited your Christian life as well as the kind and level of success you can achieve here on earth.  Any Christian who is waiting for God to rain manna from heaven for them will end up disappointed.  We are expected to use the wisdom,  God gave us to create solutions that will bring the reward called wealth.  Riches and wealth is a direct result of the solution we provide to the needs of people around us.

Wealth comes from a well-defined work path, it is not a transfer.  A transfer cannot be sustained, but a well-defined process, business or trade will continue to bring financial inflow as long as you are doing the business.  That is sustainable.

What to do:

Beloved, Prosperity is not decreed.  While you cannot rule out foundation, especially when a person has not broken all existing curses, the 'new man' must enter into the covenant of prosperity with the God of Abraham and do the works that Abraham did to possess his own divine prosperity.  He would have to be steadfast with his covenant obligation for that is what commits God to work for him.

Every successful Christian received an idea from God which was nurtured and developed into a business or service that produces riches and wealth. No Manna falls from heaven any longer, the 'new Man' must acquire beneficial knowledge and apply the knowledge diligently and wisely before his testimony of riches and wealth will appear.

God is no respecter of person. Whosoever honours Him, the Lord will honour. Whosoever obeys His voice and instructions from the word, the same will reap bountifully. Whosoever keeps covenant requirements for prosperity which include paying of Tithe, Offering, sowing seed for the work of God, serving in His Vineyard, taking care of your parents, orphans, and motherless and homeless people.  Whosoever does all these, is doing the work of God and God will bless and increase him/her.

The 'New man' will not be an exception.  His prosperity depends on his obeying the covenant obligations and working hard.  He should seek knowledge about God and His covenants and obey them. Making sure he does everything in faith, before long, his change will be evident.
