PERILOUS TIMES......AND ITS SIGNS
- Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived 2 Timothy 3:13
- Many shall be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
- Ever learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
- Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud. Blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.
Ref: 2 Timothy 3:1
Introduction:
Perilous times is a time in human history when knowledge will increase and eventually explode with a witty invention that will amaze the people. New discoveries will the daily experience, while hidden secrets and mysteries will be blown open.
One of such is the discovery by NASA that instead of one Moon that we had been taught gives us light at night, there are at least 100 Moons. Because it is the end times, so secret will be left uncovered as the world and all that is in it comes to an end. If a man can develop a pleasure plane to space and stay for days and it has been established as at today, we are no doubt in the perilous times.
Apostle Paul was a man who had a deep spiritual revelation and given his work with the Holy Ghost, he could hear from the Lord, things, and events that were to come. So, when he began to speak of perilous times, and what we are experiencing today, you will agree with me that He knew what he was saying and the message was not from the flesh, but from the Lord.
Though he wrote his letter to Timothy from the Prison, he gave a vivid description of the times to come, in which time we are in today. He listed what can be described as the characteristics of the perilous times he was writing about.
Perilous times is an evil time and whether you like it or not, evil events and occurrences are likely to be on the increase, as we are observing presently around the world.
Characteristics of Perilous Times
For men will be lovers of themselves
The nature of self-love we are seeing today is terrible. This end-time spirit makes people kill their husbands, wife, and others for disagreeing with them or hindering their plans. There is so much cheating among business partners because of love for money and self-love. From what we can see in society, love for self leads to self-deception, cheating, unfaithfulness, and murder. It also leads to self-delusion and pride. The man in authority and with means refuses to acknowledge his sins.
Consequently, the love of self produces self-justification, which drives people away from seeking God repenting from their sins. It breeds pride and you see people finding it difficult to acknowledge the ability and grace on other people, they are always the best. They forget that even their being the best is just a little while before another person overtakes their record, whether it is in sports, business or ministry.
The 'power to become' rests with God and He disburses it to men and women in diverse places and circumstances so that no man boast in His presence. The man who is the best today knows only a little of what makes him the best, higher knowledge in that area is with God.
Lovers of themselves place a false value on themselves in direct opposite of what the bible says, that we are “not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt with each one a measure of faith.”
Lovers of money
The effect of this end-time spirit is everywhere for us to see. I am shocked each time I see Christians in the wrong business and some in illegal business because of the money that comes from such business. You hear of born again sisters and women playing the harlot in the office because of promotion and money. It looks as though when you mention money, the fear of God disappears from some people. They will tell you things like "We are not talking church here, we are talking business".
I can do it because I can afford it is an attitude that disregards the warning of the consequences of an action. When Paul warned that “the love of money is a root of all evil, he did not mention that the quest for money will take many Christians away from the faith. You talk about greed and covetousness, they are there together in a man that loves money, and guess what? Such a person will never have enough money until he dies.
Many people seeking money, by all means, have pierced themselves through with many sorrows, even among Ministers of God. Those greedy for power and money that went to marine and mermaid spirit for power have ended up with multiple sorrows here on earth and hell fire after death. The rich young man came to Jesus seeking “everlasting life” and went away sorrowful because of his earthly possession. People will struggle to acquire money and later the money would acquire them, they put their heart in the money., it becomes their idol to perdition.
Boasters, proud - This flows from money and love of self. Pride of achievement and the whole nation is singing your praises, pride comes and nobody is like that person. He is then called a mogul by the world around him.
Blasphemers
Blasphemy is a serious matter when the Holy Spirit is involved and this why we advise people to keep quiet about what goes on in the church sometimes with respect to miracles, signs, and wonders. A prophet can do something strange to people to cast out the devil. But do you know if it was the Lord that told him to do, what he did? If you are not sure of what is happening, say nothing.
Jesus says any blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, so don't let the few millions you have to make you proud to speak about God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit anyhow. Remember the Titanic ship, the owners had boasted that nothing can derail or bring it down, and on the same trip where the proud word was spoken, the vessel was destroyed with almost everyone on board. We must fear the Lord always. Be quick to see and hear, but be slow to talk. Whoever does not fear God has a problem. There is something wrong with that person, please stay away from such people.
Disobedient to parents
I believe disobedience to parents starts when the child begins to mix with other children in school, especially the wrong ones. Disobedience to parents becomes a serious matter when the child refuses to be corrected. This is one of the reasons why Royal children school at home, in the Palace, where a private teacher comes to teach them from kindergarten to the university level.
But, this is an end-time spirit, which means it will still manifest in some ways everywhere, except the parents are aware of it and work against it. Parents serve as the first example of authority in all of our lives. It is, therefore, no wonder when we see the young people of the world rebelling against an authority that they were never taught to respect.
Unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving
Thanksgiving flows from the lesser to the greater. It flows from a heart that is not proud. Thanksgiving is due to God every day we have the privilege to see and live. No believer can afford to be unthankful to God, his provider. But in the end-time, you will hear the rich people asking what will your God do for them since they have all things already. Whenever you hear such an ignorant question, tell the person that your God will give him ETERNAL LIFE, WHICH HE DOES NOT HAVE.
Slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good
Slanderers are gossipers, who spread false rumours about other people. The gossip about people, cause people to hate their brothers and friends and through their gossip, assassinate people's character, killing their reputation indirectly. Most people that gossip are motivated by envy, zealous or pride. To slander is to have no concern for the truth. To lack of self-control shows an unwillingness to change. In the end, people who exhibit these characteristics love to cause conflict.
Traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.”
These are those that are undependable, unteachable, pleasure-seeking men and women, who have no room for a real relationship with God.

Dangers of the Period to Watch for
Men have become lovers of themselves, and everyone is more concerned about himself and his family. Love has taken a flight from the midst of people, even in families. Some people have known no love in their marriages, not even for a season, it has been a quarrel or fights every day.
The spirit of deception has entered many children so that in addition to being disobedient in some instances, some children today deceive their parents without feeling any remorse. This particular problem, parents have no choice but to pray till the child is delivered.
Brethren, We are in the period predicted in 2 Timothy 3:1-4 that men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud. Blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God.
The Spirit speaking expressly in 1 Timothy 4:1, warned us that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
These things are happening today. Starting from the church, we have believers who have a form of godliness but denying the power thereof because they find it difficult to yield completely unto the Lord.
Many are un-thankful to God even for life. They receive blessings and feel it is not enough for them or it did not come on time, so what is there to be thankful about. Today, some people have five PhD degrees and they are still learning.
Brethren, how are preparing to meet your God? We are in the last days, before the coming of Jesus Christ and let me warn that NO CHURCH, NO PROPHET can save you, only JESUS CHRIST.
What shall we then do?
1. Paul’s advice: “And from such people turn away!”
2. Accept Jesus Christ and serve Him in truth and spirit
I mean that only Jesus and a faithful relationship with Jesus Christ can save you at a time when the forces of evil are let loose from all directions. When the three powers that seek your soul, namely the world, your flesh, and the devil are loosed against the souls of men to divert and seduce many out of the faith.
When the devil is using forces of seduction, nakedness, greed, and power to unleash terror on man. Nakedness is used to devalue man, and every time a woman or man walks naked in public, it is celebrated as freedom from bondage and biblical restrictions.

A relationship is always nourished up to the point of marriage. Jesus is the head and husband of the church, which includes all believers, yet some of the believers do not have a relationship with Him.
Beloved, what kind of relationship do you have with Jesus and the Holy Ghost? Do you even know the Holy Ghost, the One God sent to guide you into all truth, to help you to conform to His standards in business and every area of life? How often do you seek Him and His advice on your business, marriage, and relationship?

Are you among the Christians that remember Jesus when you are in trouble? He is your Savior when an accident is about to happen and everyone is crying. He is your Lord when the witches beat you up in the dream or when your house-girl slaps you in the dream. If you are that kind of Christian, the time for change has come!
Remember that:
1. Jesus Christ is God personified, who came to this world to reconcile man back to God. He did not come to condemn you, but to deliver you from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light, the kingdom of God.
2. Jesus came to set you free from your afflictions and bondages.
3. He came to save you from sin, poverty, and disease because there is nothing He cannot do. All power in heaven and earth in invested into His hands, the only thing is that He cannot force you to accept Him.
4. He is the light, the Way, the Truth and Life…and nobody can go to the Father in Heaven except by Jesus Christ.

In Mathew 11:28-29, Jesus gave a freewill invitation to all that have worked hard and heavy laden to come to Him. He says come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
All who will come will receive rest to their soul. Jesus knows the struggles you are having, trying to live right before God. He knows your weakness sexually, He knows the temptations you have had to face living single and holy.
He knows the family troubles you are facing, the rejection due to childlessness, the rejection and loneliness you are facing as a believer, He knows the challenges of your life and your burdens...and you know what? These are the very things and challenges for which He came into the world, to destroy the works of darkness in your life.
He knows your financial struggles and the many business efforts that have failed and He is willing to help you. He invites you to come as you are, no matter the evil you may have done in the past.
