Introduction
Prosperity has become a highly emotional topic in the kingdom of God today.  It is not because people do not believe in divine prosperity, but the matter is complex because many believers and those preaching and teaching it have not seen anything near prosperity.

Prosperity is not like healing.  You can decree healing and it will manifest immediately, but if you decree Prosperity, you will not see anything happening...and if certain steps are not taken, it may never manifest at all.  Many people who thought they can decree prosperity, have discovered that it is not so.  It does not answer to decrees, neither fasting.  It is a covenant matter, and people who key into the covenant, with a strong foundation have a better chance of experiencing success.

The topic of Prosperity and how to obtain it will remain relevant until the Master returns because of what money is capable of doing.  Everyone wants to prosper and nobody wants to fail. Prosperity does not happen Now, Now!  It is worked out and gradually it starts and continues until you become rich.  You must be part of baking the Cake.

Bible Prosperity
The Bible does not condemn wealth and neither should we. The Bible has many heroes of faith that God used mightily in their days, not because of their huge account balances, but according to the grace of God upon their lives.

What is more important to the Almighty God is not whether we are rich or poor, but our attitude towards money. Regardless of our net worth, we all are responsible to be good and faithful stewards of all that God gives us.

Know your Source
There is no wealthy man, who does not know the source of his wealth. If you ask them, they will tell you. Beloved, you must know who you are and the source of your wealth.

If you are born with greatness in your destiny? or your family is wealthy, you can expect certain things to happen to you naturally, but if you are, you must brace up for a fight - Prosperity and wealth is a battle for people from a poor background.

Beloved, you must know the truth, and the truth you know will set you free.  Why do many pray for prosperity and nothing happens?  It is because they have not made the right inquiries and prayed the right prayers.  A covenant child of God with a faulty foundation cannot experience real prosperity, it will not happen.

Understand brethren that, if you are not born into wealth, it means your access to the good things of life is limited, your access to important personalities of life is also limited.  So, it is you and God helping you.  When you know this truth, your faith in God will be strong and great.

Serve God with our lives and possessions

Embracing God’s definition of prosperity must include the willingness to trust God with everything we have, as though they belong to God and not us.

We should treat material possession for what they are, temporary possessions meant to make life easy for us on earth and be willing to share them and support others that are not so endowed since we are only on a journey here on earth. If you know your life is temporal, what kind of attitude and lifestyle will you live? The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)

God has good plans for us and so, He expects that we trust Him with our needs, and to be obedient to His plan for our lives, which is to prosper us -. Jeremiah 29:11.  

What do you see?

If you have not seen your prosperity in the spirit, then you must engage the Lord in more prayer.  What you have not seen in the spirit, is not yet available for you.  This is why you need to pray and ask God to open your eyes to see in the spirit.  It is a spiritual law that God will always show you the things to come

Whoever wants to prosper should understand certain things.  You should know the son of who, you are.  The son of a wealthy man with powerful connections or the son of Jesus Christ, following Him in every way.  If you be the son of Jesus, you will look to Him to destroy every obstruction and roadblocks for you, and He will.  You must know your source and keep to your source and the covenants that brought the wealth.

Your Spiritual Foundation
You need to decide on the spiritual platform for your wealth - In Christ or in Satan. Many started well, but along the line got corrupted and their foundation shifted from Christ to Satanic. If at any time, you seek tried to use a charm to win business or do anything, your spiritual foundation has shifted.  A born again Christian has no business, using charms to win contract or patronage.

You must be doing Something
You want to start a business, buy or build your own house, but each time you save up money for it, the money goes down the drain in a way you cannot explain.  These are spiritual battles you cannot sweep under the carpet.  There are powers saying NO to your progress and if you do not deal with them through prayers, prosperity may never come.

If you are the person I am talking to, then you must know that there is heavy work to be done before prosperity can touch your hands.  All these issues are spiritual baggage, very dangerous ancestral and demonic bondages that require fervent prayer and hard working to overcome.  Many people take pleasure in covering their problem, thinking it will go away.  They are joking!

As you can see, God wants you to prosper, but the devil and his agents do not want you to prosper.  The devil fights you mainly through the records of your ancestors and the evil acts they did.  Prosperity is so important that you must have a strong and solid foundation. And if the foundation is faulty, you can repair it through prayer.

Foundational Prayers

Faulty foundations are addressed by prayers and cry for mercy.  Your fathers have died, but you are still suffering the consequences of their evil deeds is not acceptable for a born again Christian.  You are born into the kingdom of heaven, all you need to do is pray yourself out of those evil patterns.

Use the blood of Jesus Christ to cancel every binding covenant that you were included before birth. After dealing with your foundation, you are halfway to your heavens of prosperity.  The remaining things to do is getting the Idea and starting to do something, anointing on the job, diligence and righteous living.  The following points and more will help you enter into the league of the prosperous after silencing your foundation:

Your Role in getting divine Prosperity

Your portion in making divine prosperity work is for you to key-into the covenant of Abraham.  The covenant of obedience to God's word and instruction and sacrificial living.  If we study diligently the lifestyles of Abraham, you will discover a sacrificial man, who hoped against hope for the promise of God made to him directly.

You will have to key into the covenant practices in the bible and practise them with faith in your heart and great expectation in your heart.  Of course, the covenant of prosperity forbids idleness.  You must be doing something, working for yourself or for another person, company, trading to earn income.

The covenant practices are many, but I have listed a few important ones for discussion.  A successful Christian should be proud of his/her parents and honour them while they are living with every necessary provision they can afford.  Honour your father and mother is the first commandment with a promise of long life.  Quite apart from long life, honouring your parents positions you for the same benefit when you get old.  As you support your parents, so will your children take care of you.  

If a Christian understands the scriptures relating to honouring parents, it means that people that do not honour their parents will be operating under a curse.  It is a hard thing for a man or woman under a curse to prosper.  This is why you must break all curses open and secret curses hindering your life, if you hope to prosper.  And once the Lord establish you by His favour, you continue to maintain your covenant lifestyle.  

The following are a few of the covenant practices, you are expected to master and live by: 

1. Diligence

2. Honour the Lord with your substance

3. Have faith in God

4. Live holy and righteously

5. Seek first the Kingdom of heaven...

DILIGENCE - talks about doing things in an excellent manner.  You are known as an expert in what you do and you have maintained your standards consistently for years.  In your office, your profession and around your circle of influence, whoever need the services you render...comes to you for advice and the real thing. Why?  they know you are diligent and skilful.

Diligence talks about consistency and hard work.  Diligence also talks about meticulous attention to details and doing what is right and proper.  In Deut 28, we see diligence used to describe the attitude of painstakingly embracing the Word of God and doing it.  It says: 

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you because you obey the voice of the LORD your God.”

Be diligent to listen to what God has to say- in His word and be diligent to observe His commandments and to do them. God loves excellence and He will always promote diligent people who believe in His word and work hard diligently.

Honouring the Lord - With your Substance

Being rich toward the Lord brings blessings to man. God is a Giver.  We are made in God’s image, so we are able to give to others too.  God knows we function at our best when we give of what we have, and he rewards us for it.

“Honor thy Lord with your wealth, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Prov 3:9-10

 The Lord reward givers and it is on record that whoever wants to receive should be willing to give others too.  Believers know also that there could be riches from different sources. The devil gives money to his servants, but such wealth is with much affliction and sorrow, but the riches from God is without sorrow -  “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.”  Prov 10:22

Of course, God is a giver of blessings.  How do you get the blessings of the Lord upon you?  By following His ways, being diligent, seeking Him, seeking righteousness, etc., He has to bless you.  He has no other choice- His blessings make you wealthy in every aspect- He gives it to you freely and joyfully without condemnation.

Why should you honour the Lord?  -  He gives you power.  He gives you the idea and the how-to execute the idea that will launch you into wealth.  God gives you the power to generate wealth when you know that all good wealth comes from Him will make you humble and not think of yourself as a Superman, or self-made millionaire.

Tithe - Malachi 3:10-12

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field, Says the Lord of hosts. And all nations will call you blessed For you will be a delightful land, says the Lord of hosts.”

If you bring all the tithe into the storehouse - The church,  the Lord will open up the windows of Heaven, Rebukes the devourer for your sake, so that sickness and other problems of life will not destroy your harvest.  Finally, the Lord will so bless you that other people will call you blessed.

Seed -  Sowing and reaping 

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”- 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Giving is like spreading seed– if you only spread a few seeds, you get only a few plants and small harvest.  Sowing very little means you reap very little.  A sparse harvest will cause you to consume all your seed instead of putting some back for more sowing.  On the other hand, spreading more seed gets you a bigger harvest, producing an excess that allows you to sow, even more, gaining an even larger harvest.

Be cheerful when you give.  Negativity about giving actually cancels out your blessing.  Always sow happily in anticipation of a great harvest.

 Living righteously in Christ

Beloved, the righteous are precious saints of God.  They are seen as physically weak because of their belief and opinion, often harmless and seeking peace where ever there is a crisis.  The righteous are the Salt of the earth, the true ambassadors of Christ.

In Proverbs 10:3-4, the bible says “the LORD does not allow the righteous go hungry, But He thwarts the craving of the wicked. A righteous man is a diligent man.  A man that lives by faith is certainly going to be diligent to listen and obey the word of God and trust Him perfectly, otherwise the righteous could be stranded.

Paul was a minister of God, yet he was a Carpenter and Tentmaker to earn income for his own upkeep.  He was not a burden to the people he was sent to preach to, and so the bible concluded that the righteous will not go hungry.  His hands will not slack into poverty, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.”

The bible says “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly; nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” - Psalms 1:1-3

The righteous delight in the law of the Lord and set their heart and mind on the things of God. Such people are constantly nourished, always fruitful, and whatever they do prospers because they have godly presence and favour backing them.  The Lord will make you fruitful in due season.  You will not wither when things get tough (in a dry season).  You will prosper in everything you do when you consistently serve the Lord.

Trusting in God

A man that expects God to bless him and make him wealthy, must trust in God with all his heart. The bible say s that without faith in God, we cannot please Him.  If you don't have faith in the Almighty God and in His Word, you cannot please Him.  It is the same thing for prosperity.  If you don't believe and trust God for the wisdom, idea and favour to get wealth, He will not give you that wisdom.

Trusting God to do what His word says He will do is extremely important to gaining godly prosperity and wealth.  If you can’t trust God to live up to His word, then why do you believe in the first place?

In the book of Psalms, the bible says: “Trust in the Lord and do good, so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:3-5, 11

Trust means you should have faith that He is on your side and will work on your behalf.  Complete trust in God is a very difficult thing to do, but when you give it all over to Him, that’s when He can do His best work for you.

Have Faith and Trust in God-  Giving every concern over to God is a hard thing to do, but when you do it allows Him to act on your behalf better than you could ever do for yourself.  Trust that what His word says will come to pass when you do the right things.

Conclusion:

Millions are praying for prosperity daily, but there are no signs they will experience it.  If you will not address your foundation, if you will not obey the word of God and do them;  if you will not pay tithe, sow seeds to support the work of God, and honour the Lord with your substances, divine prosperity may be difficult to come for such a person.

If a born again child of God will not trust God to do what He has promised, if you will not have faith in God and seek Him first, if you will not become a covenant child of God, your prosperity ambition will be in jeopardy. God cannot do it all alone, He needs you to clean up your foundation and the mess around yourself before the heavy and consistent blessings will begin to flow into your life.

But if a person's foundation is destroyed, no amount of covenant practise will allow that person to experience true prosperity.  So, it is in your own interest to isolate yourself and prayerfully deal with your foundation.  Excempt yourself from evil patterns of your father's house and cry for mercy of God.  The most important thing you have to understand is that God can’t do it without you.
