HOW TO RECEIVE ........Divine Favour to Succeed in life..Beyond Labour

How to receive Divine Favour

“A blessed life is a favoured life”.
1. Ps 102:13: - ‘Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come’
2. Prov 10:22; - 22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
3. Romans 9:13-16, 2Cor 5:17, Heb 2:2-3

Favour is one of the critical success factors in life.  A life that will succeed will need to encounter the favour of God and continue to enjoy favour after favour till the person graduates from riches to wealth. It is for this purpose that I want to share with us what the word of God says about mercy and divine favour.

Ordinarily, to succeed, one must work very hard and diligently too. But no matter how hard one works, it is only God that giveth the increase.  A farmer can plant the best quality seed in the best soil, but if there is no rain, there is no harvest for him at the end of the farming season. The reason is that it is God that causes rain to fall. This is why favour is very important for a believer that wants to succeed.

God loves everybody, but there are people who He responds to, quickly when they pray or in need. Do you know that many of the successful children of God we know today got to the position of wealth they are today by favour. It is favour, that can make a man be wealthy enough to lend to nations and cities.  Do you know that it is favour of God that makes people envy you...and some will even say "Is he the only one"?

Everyone needs favour to operate to the fullest of life. Favour of God, automatically makes people prefer you for business and other things. God is the one that gives favour, when the favour of the Lord is upon a man’s life everything turns out to be good. Every misfortune turns into a fortune. Every misery turns into Ministry. Joseph practically demonstrated and operated in this kind of favour.

A life without favour will end in struggle and poverty, and some people struggle to get everything by themselves.  How far can such a life go?  It is the favour that connects a person to destiny helpers, scholarships, sponsors and the rest of those helpers of destiny and this is why wise men continually pray for the favour of God.

Favour brings preferential treatment and when a man finds favour in the sight of God, that man will cease to struggle for anything he desires. All that he can ever ask for or imagine will be granted to him, not because he deserves it, but because he has found favour. The person operating under favour may not be qualified for blessing, but he gets blessed all the same simply because he has obtained favour.

Mercy is compassion, kindness or forgiveness shown to someone in need. When you are merciful i.e. show mercy to people, the favour will locate you. You will enjoy favour from men and from God. When you pardon a guilty person, you have shown mercy and have qualified yourself for a favour.

In life, you observe some people usually get things done easily, while others struggle and labour hard to get the same things. The difference between these two kinds of persons is FAVOUR. The ones who get things easily done without sweat are operating in favour. Somehow these persons have found the pathway to the house of favour, having obtained it and are operating in it.

But, favour does not just come on its own accord, some things need to be done to attract the favour of God. God is not moved by our faces or situations but by our dependence upon Him.

1) Joseph: Joseph was favoured so much that Jealousy set in. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers that hated him. But the favour of God turned his captivity into dominion. Joseph had favour with man and with God, he turned into a leader in Potiphar's house and in Prison. Gen 39;21. it was a favour that made him a Prime Minister in a land where he was supposed to be a slave.

2)Ruth: Ruth was a foreigner but had favour and married Boaz and became the grandmother of David and great grandmother of our Lord Jesus. It takes favour to be taken as a wife.

3) Esther: Esther found favour with a foreign king and became the queen of the land. she was not wearing any beauty agent yet she won the beauty contest. God’s favour located her. Esther 2;17

4) Mary: Mary was favoured and became the mother of Jesus on earth. Luke 1;30

The presence of God is thus the factor that gives heaven its name. Those that will enjoy divine favour are those that are seated together with Christ in the heavenly places. Until your mind begins to picture heaven at all times, you are situated outside the heavenly and so will still not enjoy divine favour. From the presence of God there is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. You enjoy this fullness of joy and perpetual pleasures by favour, and the primary qualification for this divine favour is dwelling constantly in the consciousness of God’s presence.

Favour can be attracted. If you seek to favour you can find it. There are certain things you can do to bring the favour of God into your life continuously for the rest of your life on earth. I have watched pastors prophesy favour to their members there is nothing wrong with that, without knowing certain truths the devil can stop the flow of continuous favour upon a believer’s life. Ignorant is the number problem in the kingdom. (Hosea 4:6) To have a lasting and enduring favour, believers need to do the following.

Study the Word: Read the bible and keep the commandment of the lord. Prov 3;1-6.

Mercy: Prov. 3:34: Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of your head: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. When you are merciless and heartless, you will not find favour. Being merciful helps you to find favour even when others cannot find it.

Prov. 3:3-4: Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of your head: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Truth: Truth is living a life of honesty and sincerity. Favour is attracted to those that are always truthful. When you stand for the truth at all times, the truth will certainly set you free in the end. It may look like you are in trouble at the beginning, but before the end of the episode, the favour will speak out on your behalf. Telling the truth at all times activates both human and divine favour in your life.

Make up your mind to always be truthful. Your resolve should be that you would rather die telling the truth than become caught up in a web of lies and deceit. The devil is the father of all liars and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire. You speak truth always, you will certainly live a life of favour.

Goodness:  This is the quality of being good. It is the quality of having or showing a kind and generous disposition. Being good to people is yet another factor that can activate favour. When you are good, you find favour everywhere you go, even in the most unlikely quarters. People will favour you even if you don’t have a personal relationship with them.

Diligence: Prov. 11:21: He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour:  but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

Seeking Good of others: Proverb 11; 27. proverb 12;2. People who want the downfall of others may not get a favour.  Your goodness is a currency for procuring favour. When you are good to people around you, the favour will be handed over to you.

Prov. 12:2: A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. When you are in the habit of showing goodness to everyone around you, even to those who don’t deserve it, then you will be qualified for the favour that comes from God.

Marriage: The bible says in Prov. 18:22: Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Righteousness gives favour: the base of God’s favour is reconciling with God. Give your life to God. God gives special preference to His children. God's mercy brings favour unlimited, let's look at what the bible says about God's mercy:

Ask for God's mercy
A Christian who wants to succeed with God must understand that God is a God of justice, who brings every word He pronounces to pass at its time.  In the kingdom of God, there are dos and don'ts, life and death; and you are asked to choose the option you want.  God cannot change and will never change and His Word is settled in heaven.

He is a God of mercy who forgives the sin of his children and their forefather when a cry is made to Him for mercy.  You must investigate your family background, and the family background of your inlaws or would-be inlaws to know the kind of cry to make to God.  This is very important because, God will forgive the actors that repent, but the consequences of their evil they will still bear.  So, you must know your family history and secrets, those of your inlaws to know the god they served on the other side of Jordan.

God cannot break His covenant
The importance of a good foundation can be seen in the mercy God showed to Solomon.  God blessed him beyond his asking and warned him to toe his late father (David) footsteps in serving God, keeping God’s commandments and statutes, promising to establish his kingdom if he obeys and serves Him.

We saw in the bible in 2 Samuel 7:2, 1 Kings that King Solomon soon departed from the precepts of the Lord, he went ahead and married Pharaoh’s daughter as well as women from the nations around them and eventually followed after their gods to build temples and worship those strange gods.
God decided to take the kingdom away from him, however, when God remembered the good deeds of David his father, God could not strike him or disgrace him out of power like other kings of Israel who departed from following Him.  God decided to take the kingdom away from him, leaving only Judah for the sake of David and Jerusalem.

God remembered the covenant He made with David and promise to protect King Solomon all his days on the throne, saying He will make Solomon a prince all the days of his life and will take the kingdom away in the time of Solomon's children.  So, despite the fact that King Solomon departed deeply from following God, he remained the King of Israel till his death (See 1 Kings….).  This is what a good foundation can do.

How To Deal With Faulty Foundation
1. Know your foundation by asking your parents, what happened before your conception, during your pregnancy and after birth.
2. Find out if your mother visited places before you were conceived, during your pregnancy and after your birth
3. Who named you and how was it done
4. Repent and turn away from sin
5. Plead the blood of Jesus
6. Engage in deliverance prayers to Uproot, pull down and overthrow faulty foundations.
7. Build a new foundation by JESUS CHRIST.  He is your new foundation, you are washed by His blood and recreated according to the image of God to walk and live in righteousness and holiness all your days.

Foundation is the reason why two people pass through danger, one survives, another dies.  Two people are selected for an interview, one is taken another is rejected.  What kind of foundation do you have speaking for you?  It’s either a good or a bad foundation.

On what foundation are you standing?  What memorial did your forefathers have with the Lord and with the people?  What memorial of good deed do you yourself have with God?  The good news is that no matter how bad, faulty and destroyed a foundation is, it can be washed clean by the precious blood of Jesus. PRAYER IS THE KEY.
