GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD
1. God is Love
2. His mercy endured forever
3. He is the Almighty! Holy God and kind.
4. His glory covers the earth and His power is visible
5. He is a wonderful God! 


Introduction
I welcome you to this short exhortation on our God, mighty and awesome God, a dependable Father and owner of our lives.  Let us thank the Holy Ghost for the word, His revelation and guidance.  

O' Lord God, You are awesome! Glory be to Your name.  God of wonders, who can search out the depth of the riches of your love, wisdom and knowledge. How unsearchable is your judgment, and your paths beyond tracing out? 

God is unlike anything or anyone we could ever know or imagine. He is one of a kind, unique and without comparison. Even describing him with mere words cannot capture who He is.  Can anyone describe what he has not seen before?  Everything we know about God is a description of who He is.

Every believer should know God personally because life flows from Him. God loves us and has chosen to reveal his nature, He exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth.  He is a welcoming Father.  God invites us to talk to him and bring to him what concerns us. We don't have to get our act together first.  God is ever close to us, He is not far from us, a distance or aloof. Somewhere “out there.” Instead, he welcomes us into a relationship, so that we can get to know him in a personal way, as our heavenly Father.

His Nature


His nature is Love. In 1 John 4:8 the Bible says, God is love. God is good, God is kind, God is merciful, God is patient, God is compassionate.  When you talk about love, it is telling us that God is everywhere and every time good to us.  It is this love that made Him to sent His son to die for our sins. Our heavenly Father, the Highest, deserve every respect of a Father and creator and that respect is seen in obedience to His word and voice. 

He performs wonders with just anything, even land and raw sand. In Gen.2:7 -  He took ordinary dust, moulded it, breathed into it and ordinary dust became a man. I mean God can take you from any level of obscurity to a level never before attained by anyone in your family.  

He did so for Saul, making him the first King of Israel, David - He took him from being a herdsman to the palace as the King of Israel, He did not stop there.  God continued with David, causing him to have victory at every battle so that David did not lose a single battle all through his life and reign as King.

Forgiveness
We sin, we do things our way instead of God's way. And God sees it and knows it. God does not merely overlook such, He is prepared to correct us and show us the way.  God is forgiving and will forgive us from the moment we begin a relationship with him. Jesus, the Son of God, paid for our sin with his death on a cross. He rose from the dead and offers us this forgiveness.  So, we are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. 

God does not change. His promises are sure.  What ever the Lord promises, He will fulfil. His attributes are the same from before the beginning of time into eternity. His character never changes – he never gets “better” or “worse.” His plans do not change. His promises do not change.  This ought to be a source of incredible joy for believers. Sam Storms writes this about the good news of God’s unchanging nature: “What all this means, very simply, is that God is dependable! Our trust in him is, therefore, a confident trust, for we know that he will not, indeed cannot, change. Malachi 3:6

God Is Self-Sufficient - John 5:26
Self-sufficiency of God means he “possesses infinite riches of being, wisdom, goodness, and power in and of himself (Gen 17:1; John 5:26; Eph 3:16).  Because God is self-sufficient, we can go to him to satisfy all our needs. We never have to worry about “drying up” his never-ending well of goodness, peace, mercy and grace. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” (Ephesians 3:20)


Lion of Judah - Another wonderful nature of this awesome God is that He is the Lion of Judea - according to Rev. 5:1-9.  He fights our battles and reverses all the decrees of the enemy upon our lives.  Many times, the enemy makes conclusion against children of God, only for them to see their decree dissolved with one single prayer from a child of God.  We have the Lion of Judah who fights our battles for us.

Consuming fire - However, in Heb.12:29 the Bible says, God is a consuming fire. This is the other side of God that made Him God also. He is a God of justice, who love judgement and watches to see that justice is done on the earth.  That is why He declared that if a king rules by justice, his kingdom is established in righteousness

How do you embrace fire? - By obedience to His word and voice.  Disobeying the God who can kill and make alive is not wisdom.  One thing is sure, we all have a limited time on earth and we leave, while God continues till the end of time.

Other attributes of God found in the scriptures include:

God is Omniscient – He knows all things (Isaiah 40:28; Job 37:16; Psalm 147:5; I John 3:20).
God is Omnipotent – He has no limitations (Job 42:2; Gen. 18:14).

God is Omnipresent – He is present in all places at all times. Heaven is His throne and the earth His foot-stool  - Prov. 15:3; Jer. 23:23-24

God is Immutable – God is unchanging (Psalm 90:2; Malachi 3:6).

God is Holy – No evil found in Him (Psalm 99:9; Habakkuk 1:13).

God is Love – This sums up His mercy, grace and loving-kindness (I John 4; John 3:16; Rom 5:8).

He's the Lamb of God, referring to Jesus, God the Son, who was humble unto death at the cross.  He is referred to as the lamb of God - prepared from the foundation to be an appropriation for our sins. As a shepherd, His sheep hear His voice.

His Works

In Daniel 6 an idol worshiper gave testimony about our God. Daniel had been put into Lion's den on the accusation of his enemies, but the King, who knew that Daniel was innocent lost his sleep throughout the night. He woke up early and ran to the Den and found Daniel alive.  The stubborn prayer addict his
enemies wanted to kill in a painful way was still alive and kicking.

Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nation and languages that dwell in all the earth that peace is multiplied unto you. I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel because he living God and steadfast forever and his kingdom that shall not be destroyed and his dominion shall be even unto the end. 

He delivereth and rescues, Does signs and wonders in heaven and in the earth. This God I am talking about woes signs and wonders around the nations of the earth.  He created all things and everything He created is before Him and so, we should consider ourselves privileged to know this God who can do all things, even to be called his children.

In Ex.3:13-14 Moses asked the Lord, what is Your name? and God answered and said, I am that I am. In other words, He says,  am whatever you say I am. Whatever you say I am that is what I will be unto you. And I'm saying to the Almighty God today - Father, You are good, wonderful and NEVER to be compared.

If we understand the nature and ways of God, there is practically nothing we cannot receive from Him.  This message is to encourage believers to get close to their heavenly Father, know His ways and be blessed.  I have heard people asking God to make them a wonder of His love, healing, deliverance and  awesome greatness. These are wonderful request, which God is happy to answer when we know Him.

We can be partakers of His wonders in the area of wisdom, and supernatural breakthrough in every aspect of life.  His glorious anointing and power is available for us, in this generation.  This brief word of praise is meant to pass a message to readers that you cannot be talking about God, without praising His greatness, kindness and love towards man.  The way to receiving from Him is through praise and worship, and His presence with fill the place and your answer will drop into your spirit. He is God alone.



I realize that musicians give God so much praise and adoration in their music, which should be emulated by other believers.  Though God's greatness is well known, I will once in a while re-awaken the readers of God's great and mighty power, starting from this piece.



You re the Alpha Omega, the great and mighty God, who is able to do all things. And then in Psalm 91:1, It says He's the Highest - higher than the highest, and according to Eccl.5:8 it says he is higher than the highest.

Conclusion:

He is love and consuming fire at the same time. When you obey Him and humble yourself before Him, He will lift you up and prosper your ways, but if you rebel, He will allow you to make your own choice and receive the pay for the choice you made.  Heaven is there for the obedient children who return to Him in repentance, while hell is there for those rebellious ones.

He loves you so much and wishes that you become among His children, I mean those who have reconciled themselves back to God through Jesus Christ.  The blessings are too many to itemize here, but the greatest is them is that your name will be written in heaven and eternity is yours when you conclude your journey on earth.
