Embrace WISDOM.............The Principal thing for your Greatness!

Godly Wisdom!

1. Comes with discernment and instructions
2. It guides, keeps and protects you
3. It Promotes beyond measure
4. God's wisdom is the principal ingredient for Success!

Introduction
Wisdom hold the key to success in life.  It holds the key to weighty inventions, divine health, to divine prosperity, divine safety and to walking in the spirit and divine rest Prov 3. It doesn’t matter the job you have or the work a person does, one person could be a minister, while another person works in a factory. Both of them, by equipping themselves with God’s wisdom, will likewise be able to reign in life.

Embrace is a powerful word that relates to love.  You embrace someone you love and so the Lord wants us to love Wisdom, accept its teachings and prefer wisdom to money and other things.  One reason is that wisdom brings all these other things plus more.  To embrace wisdom is to seek knowledge of how things are done, their effect and conclusion. To exalt wisdom is to give knowledge acquisition, research and study a pride of place in your life, especially the knowledge of God, His ways and the things He love.

God is telling us in Proverbs 3 and 4 that "His wisdom is the principal thing". Godly wisdom is described a tree of life to them that lay hold on her.  Every other wisdom will benefit you to a point and expire, but godly wisdom stays with you, guides you  and directs your lifestyles till eternity.

The Lord says wisdom will preserve you and keep you.  She will promote you and bring you honour. Speak it, meditate on it, teach someone wisdom, apply the knowledge you have acquired to your life situations and love the products of wisdom and she will give thy head an ornament of grace, a crown of glory will she deliver to you.  Relevant skills important, but in addition get godly Wisdom!

Many years ago, I meditated on wisdom as it is Proverbs 3 and 4, I came to the conclusion that though, Wisdom is one of the Spirits of the Lord, this 'Wisdom' is God Almighty Himself.  The wisdom that will guard you, keep, defend, and protect you from the works of the enemies is surely GOD.

It therefore means that if you can acquire godly wisdom, you have acquired safety and key to everything else.  Wisdom keeps!  Godly wisdom comes with discernment - which was what Solomon actually asked for. That he may know how to discern good and bad and then judge the people right.

Divine Wisdom
Wisdom is the key to reigning on the earth as children of God.  Anointing is good, but wisdom is better and more durable than anointing.  The Spirit of wisdom says, "Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, all the judges of the earth". (Proverbs 8:14–16)

Wisdom is so important that she has a Spirit.  In Isaiah 11, we see that the Spirit of wisdom  is one of the seven Spirits of God.  Wisdom consists of all those precious revelations that the Lord gives to people that they may find their way to success and be equipped to establish His Kingdom here on earth.  Wisdom to a man is released in the form of instructions on what to do.

The conquering nature of wisdom in action can be seen in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. His ministry was empowered and directed by the wisdom of God. When there were rumors going around about Jesus Christ’s and John the Baptist’s ministries, God gave Jesus wisdom to answer the people who were condemning them.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children. (Matthew 11:18,19).  Wisdom justifies a person in the face of any opposition.  When you give a good account of yourself, men will respect you. Word inspired by the Lord cannot be contradicted by the adversary.  That is how Wisdom raises a person up, above any enemy or adversary, for it is written…I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. (Luke 21:15)

The place of wisdom in Life
One of the wisest men on earth, King Solomon, says in the Book of Proverbs:

…Wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her. I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion. (Proverbs 8:11,12)

Every Christian would love to have a powerful anointing. Yet that cannot be compared to wisdom. Wisdom is more important than anointing. If a person’s head is empty, then his endeavor to get the anointing is in vain. Anointing without wisdom is totally ineffective. Anointing will produce the result you desire, but wisdom will sustain the result. Wisdom knows the reason behind the miracle.  Wisdom dwells with prudence, not with anointing. If a person has wisdom, then he will also have the anointing. You cannot get wisdom without gaining knowledge and understanding.

Jesus was anointed. But this highest level of anointing that He had was given to Him by wisdom. Nobody can receive wisdom as a mere gift. No-one can wake up one morning and suddenly find himself wise. Wisdom doesn’t come without knowledge and discretion. Wisdom is the result of diligently searching for knowledge and then meditating on it. “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” (Luke 2:40,52) tells us how Jesus labored for the anointing by acquiring wisdom first. Wisdom comes through knowledge and understanding.

Wisdom is hidden in the fear of the Lord.
And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’ (Job 28:28)

We are not incorporating with this world. We fear nobody, except God. We fear nothing, except sin. When we put away sin and wickedness, it is important that we seek holiness and the fear of the Lord. It is not possible to have divine wisdom without the fear of the Lord. If there is anything worth fighting for, in preserving our soul, it is the fear of God. If there is anything we should re-establish again in our life, it is first and foremost the fear of the Lord.

God’s secrets are revealed only to people who fear Him. And because of this, we can know the secrets of His heart and understand His thoughts. God keeps nothing secret from those who fear Him. Whoever has the fear of the Lord becomes His friend, someone He can reveal His thoughts to. And if a person knows God’s thoughts, then who would be able to resist anything that goes contrary to God's word.

If a person doesn’t have the fear of the Lord, then He has not even begun knowing God. The absence of the fear of God that make people to fall into secret sins.  In a world where pornographic materials and pictures are dumped everywhere, one who fears the Lord must watch what his eyes sees and where his legs takes him to. This end-time pandemic can easily arrest anyone that sees the pictures they dump on the internet.  No matter your age and spiritual level, your solution to to stay away from evil pictures.

God is no respecter of persons, so our love for God must be in deeds, not in words only.  If you preach one thing and don’t practice it, if you have double standards for different people - your family members are never wrong, the rich people in your church are saints, their opinion rules, then you are deceiving yourself.  To fear the Lord is wisdom, and that means that you order your life and family according to His word.  The fear of the Lord is the foundation, of any meaningful relationship with God.  It is the stone, without which you cannot lay even a single brick.

Instructions from Godly Wisdom - Prov 4:13-27

1. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

2. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

3. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.  Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

4. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

5. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

6. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

7. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

8. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

9. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Solomon was gifted in wisdom from his birth.  The bible foresaw his coming to build the temple of God, which God asked David not to build.  It was wisdom that motivated him to offer 1,000 burnt offering - something that even his father David, being a friend of God could not do.

The young Ruler was a man of immense wisdom and quick understanding judging from his answer to a request the Lord made to him in a dream.  Instantly, wisdom told him to humble himself before God, and be thankful for being chosen to be king over God's people.

Wisdom led him to make the most spiritually compliant request, that agrees with the mind of God and God was happy with the young man's request.

See Solomon's request:  1 Kings 3:6-13

And Solomon said, "Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

The Blessing:

Beloved, the bible says Solomon's speech pleased the Lord,  and God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment.  Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

EFFECT:
Solomon obtained godly wisdom in measures that no human on earth had ever received and will ever receive.  He was the wisest of all men, had the ability to walk with God and follow His ways. He knew what was right.

Solomon discovered almost everything the early man knew about nature.  The sources of Rivers, the rising and going down of the Sun. moon the animals and their strength, man and what we think about.  He also discovered the times and seasons of life and put them in proper perspectives.

Solomon it was that discovered what is foolishness, the vanity of riches, lusts and human desires.  He discovered that the vanity in the heart of man is from the Lord, who created man and put into his heart the desire to conquer the world.  God gave man dominion to the earth and all His creations on the earth, So, man's burning desire is first towards the world, to conquer and dominate, instead of loving God.

Solomon discovered some strange findings like 'the people that have money, riches and wealth, but lack the appetite to eat and enjoy their wealth.  Their zeal and joy is to continue to increase in wealth and later leave everything for others to enjoy. The book of Ecclesiastes is full of the discoveries of Solomon.

Solomon got wealth as promised and could not control himself, his appetite and lusts came in-between and he fell from grace.  The wise man could not take his eyes off women and from all pleasure and joy.  In a confession he made made in Eccl 2:10a, he stated that "whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy" - This statement probably explained why he married the highest number of wives and concubines in history.

Solomon discovered that the race of life is not to the swift, nor battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise men, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill...but time and chance happeneth to them all - Eccl 9:11.  Solomon discovered all these and more before he went astray, and was not able to return to walking in God's way. He could have followed after his father David, a man after God's own heart, he made mistakes also, but he quickly repented and returned to fellowship with God.

Solomon summarized on wisdom  by saying that God giveth to a man that is good in his sight Wisdom, and Knowledge, and Joy. But to the sinner, He giveth travail-Eccl 2:26.  Lets see what the bible says about wisdom.

Walking in Divine Wisdom

Walking in divine wisdom means walking in the Word, and to be truly great in this world, you must walk in divine wisdom. You have to live by the word and every instructions from the Word of God.  The reason is because, the Word of God is the wisdom of God. The great men and women of faith in the bible distinguished themselves by following God’s Word and instructions.

Abraham started it all.  God asked him to leave his father's house and he obeyed immediately.  God promised to make him father of many nations, and he believed.  God promised him a son and he believed Him.  When the son was born and growing up into Teenage hood, God asked him to offer the boy to Him as a sacrifice and he obeyed.  Joshua, for example, walked with God according to the instructions he received from the Lord, and recorded remarkable victories for the children of Israel (Joshua 8:1-24). Isaac also walked with God. There was famine in the land and many were migrating to Egypt for greener pastures. Isaac made ready to go to Egypt as well, but God told him not to. Instead, God instructed him to remain in Gerar where there was famine and sow in the land

Isaac didn’t continue with his own agenda; he followed the Lord’s leading and prospered exceedingly in the same land that had been impoverished by famine. When everyone else dug a well for water, they didn’t find water, but when Isaac dug for water, he found water, in the same dry land. The Bible says, “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great.  That was the wisdom of God in action.

Many people spend large sums of money on clothing, property and cosmetics…, but all these are of less significance than wisdom; it is better to possess wisdom. Only wisdom can lead you to success in life. Above all, we need to strive to get hold of wisdom, so that we can rule this world and establish the Kingdom of God in it. Wisdom inspires us with supernaturally conceived plans and programs; it is by this wisdom that the 21st century Church will reign!

No matter how difficult things gets for the church these last days, God has promised to give His wisdom, and when somebody acquires it, nobody will ever be able to stand against him. Wisdom is God’s ‘last drop’ that causes our cup of blessings to overflow, so that we can be true kings on the earth and thereby reveal Jesus Christ to the world — reigning, exercising dominion and establishing the Kingdom of God on it. Choose to get wisdom!

That is why I am encourage you to listen to audiotapes and read books. They are as important as the physical bread you buy each day. You should rather spend money and time acquiring knowledge and understanding that will increase your wisdom. This is the most precious thing that a person can ever have. If you acquire wisdom, it will put food on your table, more than you ever wanted. Though physical food is important for life, yet we don’t live to eat, we eat to live.

You may use your human mind to reason out different things about your life and ministry in God’s house, but God’s wisdom is greater than man’s wisdom. Walk in divine wisdom, function in it and follow the leading of the Spirit in your life, and you’ll always be victorious.

Conclusion
God is all wise, all knowing God.  He loves wisdom, operates in wisdom and love His sons and daughters who walk in wisdom. The importance of wisdom in the affairs of life cannot be ignored.

Wisdom saves and preserves life.  Wisdom also protects and maketh one rich.  I share with us here some of the scriptures on Wisdom and everyone full of the Spirit of God walks in divine wisdom.

Seek divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  In all your learnings, forsake not God and His instructions. When God gives you wisdom, remember to be grateful and serve Him.

The moment you depart from the ways of the Lord to follow other gods or idols, God will also leave you and your profiting will nose-dive and finally crash.
