Introduction

A curse is a serious spiritual problem, which hinders progress in life and ministry. Many Christians suffer long under the bondage and yoke of curses they do not know where the curses are coming from.

Many believers battle with all sorts of illnesses and disease that has defiled prayers, holy communion and some times prophesy. Serious illnesses like suicides, poverty, alcoholism, mental illnesses because of curses they may not even know about. So, curses are to be dealt with without delay if a man wants to make progress in life.

There are open and hidden curses. Open curses are spoken to you directly by an aggrieved person or agent of darkness - which you should countered immediately, while hidden curses are spoken secretly in the coven and temples without the knowledge of the victim.

Hidden curses is one of the reasons for many failure that Christians experience in life and ministry. Curses work against individuals and families in the background without the victims knowing.

There are curses from different sources:

1. There are curses from God  -  For disobedience to the word of God
2. There are curses from Satanic agents, witches and wizards, occultists without legal ground.
3. There are curses from Satanic agents without legal grounds
4. There are curses from Parents for disobedience
5. There are curses from other people offended.

Believers must be mindful of legal grounds which arise from their behaviour and misconduct. Believers must remember that sin and disobedience are the causes of many bondages of life.

While curse-less curses cannot stand, but curses with legal ground sticks and work against their victim until there is godly intervention through prayer. The assurance for your deliverance is documented in Gal 3:13 where Jesus paid the price for your deliverance from curses.

Justification for Prayer

When it comes to prayer, the Lord is ready and willing to answer all our prayers, especially according to our faith.  If you believe and pray to God concerning anything, He would answer you, that your joy may be full.  He says "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land".

And this should be the confidence that motivates you to pray continually and at any time you have needs.  It is written that "if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him".

So, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. What you need to do is to trust in the Lord and His promises.  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Pray without ceasing, and whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Remember that if you will begin to pray and all the time, the Spirit Himself will help our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.  Keep praying and keep asking what you want because it is written, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

You know the reason why you should pray boldly to the Lord, it is because He has already promised to answer you when you call to Him.  He says "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known".

Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Especially, pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

The Lord says...Do not forget to pray for people in authority, over the Church of Christ, the nation, state and other constituted authorities.  The Lord urge you and every christian that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that children of God may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Fasting help prayer to become effective because the vessel praying is light in the sense of subduing his flesh and surely would be more ready to pray and intercede.  Spiritual fasting is not just about giving up food or other items, but it is about feeding the spirit through our obedience to God. Fasting also help you understand deep spiritual matters and grow closer to God.
